Visitation Mon 2-9p, Funeral Tu 6p (go to Wait Chapel)

Visitation Mon 2-9p, Funeral Tu 6p (go to Wait Chapel)

Even if the funeral might be private, will there not likely be a public memorial service in Wait?
Personally, I would like a live stream if I can't get to Winston.

(Naz here just clarifying.  Everyone please attend at Wait Chapel for the funeral mass Tu 6p where there will be a simultaneous live TV feed.  Holy Family should be for family, players, staff, close friends and their families.  But whichever location you attend, it would be wise to get there very early since seating will be limited.  Visitation is 2-9p MOn at Holy Family.)

Re: Memorial service

Hopefully they do something for him once classes start back up as well.  I know there are a lot of students who can't make it back but want to be there.

I would hope that they would have something in the Joel as to the sheer volume of people would be too much for Wait.

I think the Joel is appropriate.  I hope we are today when it may be.  I would really like to make the trip from Wilmington.

Re: Memorial service

How about holding the service on the Quad?  Could plan to use the Joel as a backup in case of bad weather.

Re: Memorial service

What about the first home game of the basketball season?  I hope there's something special planned.  That would be something I'd drive 5 hours for...

Re: Memorial service

looks like the Joel is open thru August. I thought there would have been an announcement by now.

I'm sure something will be planned then, but we can't wait that long to gather and pay our respects.

Really? I wouldn't expect anything until early next week. Since it was really sudden, I'm sure Nancy is still grieving too much to make arrangements.

Re: Memorial service

Not only is the family having to deal with the shock, the phone calls, etc. but a public memorial service takes a great amount of coordination and planning.

We'll know soon enough.

Say what you will about them as coaches, but both Herb Sendek and Billy Donovan paid respects at the visitation last night.  While I'm sure a lot of coaches will be there today, both of them were there last night as well.

I don't think anyone has had anything but good things to say about Herb as a person for the last ten years ... The State fans ran him out, but it wasn't because of his character.

Very nice of Sendek and Donovan.  Any other coaches or players from other schools?

6 pm Wait Chapel
Yes, at 6pm, there will be a live feed of the service which is happening in Clemmons. There will probably be a good showing of a wide swath of the Wake forest community. Proably a lot of folks who are already on campus would be there. Please consider attending if you are able.
