There are many at Wake Forest much more qualified than I. Plenty of myth busters and truth tellers from the philosophy department to the biology dept. Hatch made a mistake here and when he corrects it he can go ahead and clean the whole chaplain office out. Off campus where it belongs. |

It still considers itself religious, albeit no longer affiliated with the Southern Baptists or any other specific church. This was a point Wake Forest took issue with in 2005 when Baylor claimed Wake Forest was a "secular university."

Reading the piece on Wake Forest's imam, there is a long thread of guilt by association by association by association by association.
If I did the same six-degrees-of-Kevin-Bacon thing to any Baptist campus minister who has served at Wake, I could eventually hold him responsible for the actions of ostensibly Christian Ku Klux Klan and anti-civil rights churches of the 1950s/60s and declare him/her responsible. This, of course, would be hogwash.

Some people need to let go of the hate and prejudice. It has no place at Wake Forest. We Christian's have been associated with some of the most violent acts of hate in world history. That doesn't mean we should all be labeled as hateful or radical. Coexist, people.

Time to batten down the Hatch. He will not get points from alumni and gift givers for this quixotic move. Artificial, fools no-onem .I hope it's not permanent in nature both as to the appointment and the judgment exercised. Hatch might plead "transitory insanity" successfully on this one.

Dean Leonard is a Southern Baptist. Thank Zeus we are severed from their irrational motivations at Wake Forest. We have a divinity school. Lets confine the divine there right where he is. He does not speak for me or any other graduate who takes a small ownership in our alma mater.

Woodsmall has opened a Facebook page titled: Alumni for a Shariah-Free Wake Forest
Griggs did not return phones calls to the WSJ ifor today's paper
