RE: Wake vs FSU Thread

If the freshmen shoot under 30%, we lose. If FSU has > 5 blocks, we lose. If we shoot under 15 FTs, we lose.

The key is not getting into such a hole early. We never had a chance in the games at MD,UNC, GT because of simply horrendous starts

Thought for the day : maybe both sides, we can watch what we say(post) today until after the final whistle. That may save alot of pointing fingers and eating crow after the final whistle on either side. And maybe just maybe we can all be happy together after the game for once.

Well, I'll be plenty happy if we win.   I'll 110 percent BzzzOut, but I'm not pulling against my Deacs because of it.  If Bzzz starts winning and ends up being a great coach here I'm good with it, just want our program to be good again.

That and not let our first substitutions take us out of the game as well.   I think before we subbed against UNC the score was 15-13 and I think UMd was similar as well.   Against Tech we went down 16-0, so starters or subs it didn't matter.

If I was a betting man, I wouldn't bet on this one period.  Who knows who will show up for Wake or for FL State for that matter.  They are every bit as up and down as we have been.  We could get blown out or we could win big or anything in between.

Absolutely correct.  I agree.  Key is to get off to a good start; and then play for 40 full minutes.  This has been a tough road game even in "good" years, but we could catch them off balance.  If we have a future, it has to show itself some time.  This could be an opportunity.  Fingers crossed.

When Buzz is truly out, our chances of winning will be greatly enhanced. I heard from a very good source today (personal contact) that he's in for at least another year.  Cold, rainy, gloomy day accompanied the news I heard.
Gloom, despair, excessive misery, deep dark depression..followed.

I can't believe there are people out there that think Buzz won't be back next year.  The only one I could see that happening is if Buzz decided to call it quits and I am sure he is looking forward to coaching this group of young men.

If this team finds a way to pick up the slack from CJ leaving (no easy thing) and the Freshman become Sophomores (a given), they are going to be really solid next year, especially with Duke, NCSU, and Miami losing a lot of experienced players.

A win at FSU will put Wake and FSU in a tie at 6-9.  A win over Maryland on Saturday could possibly end in a tie with them at 7-9.  Could Wake at 9-9 end the regular season in the upper division of the ACC?  Wake would have the tiebreaker over FSU and NC State.  Go Deacs!!!

Another post asked what the excuse will be next year, there it is.  Imagine if Travis would leave early (not likely), but if it did happen, the it will be we lost our two best and most experienced players and poor Bzzz was left with abunch of sophomores and a couple of freshman,

To me, next year is make or break it for Buzz.  The team is improving but that has something to do with hitting buzz bottom last year.  However, if you can't be excited for this group of players, it is only because you are so buzz out that you can't see what they are putting together.

Let's see how the kids play.  If Chase returns to his frosh form and Overton comes in to play some D, along with growth of Madison and CMM, I don't know that we are going to drop off much without CJ--- that's not to say that CJ isn't important, but at least each of Overton, Madison, and CMM brings something to their respective games that CJ does not.

I don't remember us ever playing well there so I seriously doubt we'll win. I'll be looking for any positive bleed over from the last game, but expecting a whipsaw.
