Well, he did design a hell of a play at the end-- you have lots of time and you don't need a three and you have a great foul shooter who is also good at penetrating and drawing fouls and they have no shot blockers....so you have him dribble into the corner and try a 40 foot baseline pass to a player who cannot make uncontested shots when the game isn't on the line...I mean that is genius really.

Sadly, get really hammered and pull for teams to beat UNC and the dookies. Have to cheer for something right?

I really wish I could have the I don't give a Damn attitude that Travis has after a heartbreaking loss. His talk to Stan after the game was as calm and cool as I've ever seen. The truly laughable thing is that some people with a Wake Forest education aren't smart enough to realize that a 1 pt loss is about equal to a 1 pt win when it comes to the decision about whether to keep him. Understanding that you would prefer for these kids to get destroyed to further your agenda, if the game is close, you might as well cheer for the Deacs.

I cheer for them Cary, just talked to Codi and told him that I felt his pain. It's nothing about the players it's about the commander. And I talk to a lot of these players on the team and it doesn't bother them that their are message boards talking crap about their coach.

OK I'll play along. My Wake education tells me to look at the record, watch the players (especially our jr/sr "leaders"), and see the coach get schooled almost every game. Poorly designed plays, can't get an inbounds pass in, wrong players shooting low percentage shots at key times down the stretch, etc.
My educated conclusion is that this kind of failure (even though close, but no cigar) is unacceptable after 3 years. We truly look (and act) like Weak Forest at the end of games (especially mentally). Teams are a reflection of their coach. The players can be salvaged by a better coach.
Time to move on...

Winning and losing are equal? Why bother keeping score then? Wellman should just announce that the score will have no influence on whether or not Wake keeps Buzz, and therefore keeper will be instructed not to keep score and the scoreboard will be turned off during home games. Buzz and the Buzzins should be happy. So should keeper. He'll get paid for doing nothing.

you can take a beginning stat class in high school to read the facts, statistics, to know he is a horrible coach.  it doesn't take a wake forest education.  from the beginning of his career to the present he has never had a single statistic to back up any sort of success. 

what is not funny at all is how a handful of you continue to back him as a great coach when he hasn't done a single thing to deserve it.  no one on your side has a single fact it is all your personal opinions. no facts or statistics to back up those opinions.  and then that leads to what you do next which is call wake fans who want him out terrible fans.  it is a cycle you all lead.  and you buzzins like to also call people out for lack of basketball knowledge yet again, we bring facts, and again you buzzins throw around opinions without a single fact to back it up.  and finally the buzzins like to show us how low your expectations are for our program and throw around a "we can't get anyone better."  you are like a terrible enabling parent.

we all cheer for them!! why would we spend time on this board if we didn't? the "your not a real fan" is just another scheme to get us to be quiet. along with we are a young team (so are the teams that are blowing us out), we can't get any better, our expectations are too high....

Who would you have had shoot?  
The guy who missed two shots last game in winning time?  
The guy who turned it over in winning time?
The guy who missed against VT at winning time?
The guy who never got the ball today?

They had a play.  They ran the play.  It failed.  I feel miserable for the kids -- they really played hard and it's obvious that it hurts them to lose.  I don't feel any pain for the miserable bastards on here, though.  The posters who are rooting for losses get their "win" today.
