Request – No more Negative Comments on BZZZ until Saturday
The team just had its biggest win in three years. Enjoy it. Did anyone watch Thomas celebrating with the students after the game? We have freshman who are playing hard. They seem excited about playing here. If you can’t see that the future is bright for Wake basketball, then you just don’t want to see it.

RE: Request – No more Negative Comments on BZZZ until Saturday
There's so much to talk about with our players right now, there's no need to even talk about the head coach. Everything's been said a million times, but hardly anyone here has posted anything about, say Moto or Madison or half of our players. We have a bunch of interesting players with different strengths and weaknesses, so there should be loads of talk about them. The coach isn't going anywhere this season, and everything to say about him has already been said. But there's loads to discuss about our players.
Madison for example has holes in his game, but he is fast and has great court vision. We've needed a PG like him for years. If he can just improve his shooting from the field a bit so they have to guard him, and improve his free throws, he would be a hell of a PG. Even if he can't do those things, he's already a valuable role player.

I know Jones is no smith but my point is if he can improve like Smith did, we will be alright.

Re: Request – No more Negative Comments on BZZZ until Saturday
There it goes again.... Listen to what Dan said. Stop ******** about the coach endlessly, and for the rest of you, stop praising him incessantly anytime something good happens. Instead could we start talking about the players, and the games? It seems almost everyone here only wants to claim to know more than everyone else about who are coach should be, meanwhile forgetting what it means to be a fan. Our players are busting their asses every game now and putting up results better than anyone expected, and really better than almost anyone could expect from a group of largely freshman in the ACC. I haven't been in a position to see Wake play much the last few years, but what I'm seeing from this team in terms of ball movement on offense and intensity on defense is better than I remember in even some of the glory seasons. And certainly better than what I was expecting after following this message board the last few years.
Let's enjoy this. If that's not possible for you, then could you just shut up and let the rest of us do so?

Re: Request – No more Negative Comments on BZZZ until Saturday
Jones seems to be a smoother player than Ish with perhaps even less shooting ability. But he's so young, there is no reason to expect that he can't improve significantly, and I'm sure he's working on it. He may not reach J. Gray levels but remember how much Downey improved as a shooter. With his speed, he doesn't even need Taron's range. Just being able to finish better in the lane would make him very dangerous.

RE: Request – No more Negative Comments on BZZZ until Saturday
O.K., I'll take that challenge: With a record like this guy has (really bad), a two pt. win on our court does not change a damn thing, or extinhuish a pile of losses. I am happy for the players-glad to be in the W column. Bz is not a hero to long-suffering by virtue of one 2 pointer. Our affection doesn't come that cheap. "But don't let no-body play me cheap, when I see mo' wins, I'll get on my feet."

Gazpacho - I do agree with you I probably should have labeled the post - No comments on Bzzz until Saturday. My future is bright comment is about the players more than anything.
It is amazing that we keep finding point guards who cannot shoot FT. It's been since CP3 and Downey since we have had an actual PG that we could count on making FT's at the end of a game.

Don't you fools get it? In the Skip-Dino era beating NCSU was a non-event. Hell, beating an 18th ranked team wasn't a big deal. Bz and Wellman set the bar so low that now it's celebrated. Pathetic.

I like him as a player; however, the inability to hit free throws is an absolute killer for a ball handler at the end of tight games. That must improve, even if his outside shot doesn't.

With every game in which we continue to improve you constantly negative guys are losing any little credibility you had. These players are working very hard for themselves and the coaching staff, and I think it will translate to rebuilding a program, not just one game or one season.

How did we improve against Va Tech? That game was a total meltdown. Bz can't win on the road and can barely hold serve at home. His upside is 9-9 in the ACC. That's not acceptable.

As long as Bz continues to give me reason not to complain about him then I won't.

I didn't say that we would win every game nor look good every game, but if you can't discern the improvement and the sheer will out on the court, you're blinded by your own negativity. What a dark cloud!

What a dark cloud! You don't get it, do you? Making the NCAA tournament shouldn't be the objective, it should be an afterthought. Bz's absolute ceiling is making the NCAAs whereas that was the floor for most of Skip and Dino's teams. I hope that you don't run a business since you clearly don't expect much.

Good luck with this, the other board (as I knew it would) is useless (i.e. crashes) after anything major happens.

73. It's gonna take a lot more that this one game squeaker for me to have any respect for this coach. I respect and pull for the players, but this coach ,on the hard facts of record, has a aong way to go to gain respect in this conference. This is a business. It takes some time and a record to prove your merits. "You've come a long way from St. Louie, but baby, you've still got a long way to go.." Wake one squeaker at home tonight. I buy the team, but not the Bz.
