Planning on having a great night enjoying this win and replying to some of these genius message board so-called Wake Forest fans. Buzz in from day one and d**** proud of it. This is my last thread to start to defend Buzz, he surely doesn't need my help anymore. Go Deacs and hope all the real Wake fans are enjoying the win.

Real Wake fans don't downplay the accomplishments of Wake teams that made the NCAA tournament.

Good win tonight.   We played great for 28 minutes and then hung on for dear life.  We were lucky because we gave Virginia a bunch of opportunities to steal this game.

Ugh.

UVA decided they were dumber than we were for the last few minutes. We also looked like we played Jim Grobe football for the last 10 minutes. We were up, stop scoring, play not to lose.

Nailed it. We stopped doing what got us there.

In section2. Fun game to attend. The haters keep right on hating through a solid win.
Refs killed Wakes momentum.

We will get 3 or 4 so it is good to get one early. BC will be much tougher this Saturday. If we win 6+ it will be nothing short of a miracle.

Agreed, sadly.  Lucky to 7-11 or a miracle 8-10.  We'll know a good bit more in 2 weeks.

Awesome win last night!  I knew Buzz would pull through and that all his hard work would pay off.  We beat Virginia last night who just dismantled UNC last week!  Do you know what this means?

UNC won the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP a few years ago!  The NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!  This means that we beat the team last night that beat the team last week that won the national championship 4 years ago!  I smell FINAL FOUR!

Way to go Buzz!  I knew it was only a matter of time.  Bring on dook!

Good stair-step to what would be a sweet win though!

BC, Clempson, VTech, all seem to be winnable though two on the road and everyone seems to be in love with BC's freshman guards.  GT looked pretty tough last night against State - very athletic and they made a bunch of shots for the first 35 minutes of the game.  They could be a pretty tough out.  I was surprised, saw them once early this year and they didn't look nearly as good.

I can see that. Va Tech and Clemson seem to be making a push for 11th and 12th at present.

The refs didn't make Wake burn the first 25 seconds of every possession the last quarter of the game.

These threads are just as ridiculous as the over the top anti buzz threads.  You are saying Buzz proved all he needs to prove by winning one home game against a team that hasn't beaten us here in 12 years.  Virginia is probably not even a tourney team.

That being said.  It was a nice win that hopefully we can build on this year.  Everyone who takes the time to post on here wants Buzz to succeed whether they admit it or not because that means the team is winning.  Many just dont think he will get it done.

Buzz needs to show marked improvement this year to build some excitment in the program.   I am Buzz out but would gladly change my mind if he can do show marked improvement this year...Lets let the year play out and see what happens.

I disagree, this win does prove the team is growing and moving in the right direction and that the last few games haven't been a fluke.  But absolutely there is much to work on and we certainly do need it to continue.  Yes the year needs to play out and a complete evaluation isn't valid before (good or bad).

Crowing about this one win is not a good idea. It's just going to make the noise even worse the next time we lose.

It's great to enjoy it, but there's no need to try to throw it in everyone's face though. It will only make this board more unreadable in the future.

I think reasonable people will enjoy that we beat a team that was 11-3 and had just beat the Holes (and I think was in the top 50 in the Kenpom FWIW.) Reasonable people will also know that it's just one game, and we still have lots of issues, and a long, long way to go.

I think everyone is already counting the BC game as a win, but they just whipped VT on the road last night, and only lost to State by 5 this past weekend. Anderson had 26 and 9 rebounds last night, Lonnie Jackson had 22 and 7, and Hanlan had 17 and 8. They are going to really be tough for us, as rebounding is our biggest problem.

We realistically could very easily lose that game, and if we do, this board is going to melt down for sure.

A win is a win. We did enough....barely. We need to learn to finish games and put nails in the coffins when we have teams down.
