You didn't know?
We've got a game tonight! High Point coming to town.
Only connection I could find is they lost big to W&M and we squeaked by them. Would love to get a blowout win.

Hah,Hah,Hah, Blowout  thats a good one OldBlackandGold, I just hope we win by 1, but deep down inside I just hope we show up enough were we don't let High Point come into the Joel and take it to us and, win by double digits now that would be bad! |

All Inning and Outing aside, this could be a semi-pivotal game - for the season and the Freshmen at least. Coming off a close road loss in which the team did not get off to a big hole at the start of the game and playing a HPU team which will come in READY, this should be an indicator of how the team as a whole is faring and possibly progressing. No one game, win or lose, makes a season, but each one - this one - is important - especially considering the fix in which we find the program.

God and my fellow board members I hope will forgive me but a big part of me hopes we lose this game just to accelerate a coaching change and perhaps salvage a group of freshman that have some talent and have played hard. I'm honestly ashamed to feel this way but its really what it has come to. { Deacs fan for all of my adult life ...30 plus years }

I haven't seen Ron Wellman at any sporting event in over the last year, and I doubt he would dare to even show his face at a basketball game! I understand your thinking 16Hockey I really do, because if we suffered some more terrible losses maybe it would force Ron to make a change! Because I'm like you I could care less about Wellman, or Buzz, its all about our basketball players that have decided to come to Wake to win conference championships, and make it to post season play! Also to become the best basketball players that they can become which takes a great coach that can reach down inside of those players, and knows how to bring it out of them, and how to teach them fundamentals that will make them better players, and to have a overall better basketball IQ! Thats were in my opinion I feel our players are getting short changed, and they are not getting a coach that can really take their already god given talent to the next level to take our players from average to great!  |

Actually, the HP team played as a team in the summer FCDS games, so the Deacs have played against them before, just not as a team. If we can play some tenacious D, I think we have a very good chance of taking them to the cleaners.
And I will defend Ron Wellman in that I've seen him at EVERY basketball game so far, and a few of the football games. So I don't think he is as out of it as you think he is....

Unfortunately, since Ron has been on drugs from the start with this hire it appears evident that he will only make a change if utter embarassment and humiliation befalls our program. We have passed the embarassment part and pretty much hitting humiliation especially if HP has more fans and beats the Deacs tonight. It can't get worse than that.
Kind of like when a druggie goes cold turkey and has shakes/sweats/DTs etc. that force them into reality. We have gone from lots of wins and jam packed/rocking Joel to no wins against anyone of consequence and a ghost town @ the Joel and most true fans are in total misery while Ron smiles and tries to inject another dose of Bzzcrack.
Hate to say it but really best for the program both short and long term to get off this drug of Bzzz to have poor results which all point to the abysmal coaching we are witnessing. And agree better for players as well so they can get some real coaching and not the deer in the headlight look and responses as to why we are playing so bad.

I would strike that defense and enter judgment for Mocksville Deac. If Wellman is actually going to the games as you say and still allowing this travesty to continue I would have to say he is every bit as out of it as the poster said he was.
