Wake Vs. Mercer Thread
Ok guys. Not really sure who Mercer is but I hope to god they are not another Stetson.  We REALLY need to bounce back from that terrible loss and play hard like we did against UConn. Anyone have any insight on Mercer? |

Never heard of them, but surely they must have a higher Ken Pom rating than we do, so we'll be the underdog!  |

I think they won the collegeinsiders.com Tourney last year and they set a school record for wins last season (27). Most of their starters are Jr. and Sr....look for a game such as Iona. Them 78 us 68.
We could be 1-10 by the end of December.

Atlanta school with great academics. I'm sure that they, and I hope our team, as well as I, could not possibly give any less of a flying ******* about the Ken Pom ratings. Just another internet jackass whom computer geeks think is something more than just another internet jackass.

All our OOC games will be tough and close for a while yet until we learn to play as a unit and, with young players, it is kind of like playing with schizophrenia.

So, Wake Forest is a one-point dog in the game to avoid finishing dead last in a tournament featuring such basketball powers as Mercer, University of Illinois-Chicago, and Quinnipiac. Thank you, Ron Wellman. You are leaving a proud legacy.

University is a Baptist school (recently went re-affirmed its conservative ties) Offers law and medicine professional schools as well as a small undergrad (4000 or less students on the main campus). linkMascot is the Bear. Play in the Atlantic Sun conference.
I have seen some indications that they are considered a decent mid-major team. Last NCAA tourney appearance was in 1985. They have a very new on-campus arena and are adding football at a lower level next year. |
