CIA Director resigns
Wow... For an affair? Since when does an affair cause anyone to Resign their job? I mean, even Clinton didn't resign the highest office in the world. My take, it was either this or end up dead because he was about to spill the beans regarding Benghazi. Framed and now the fall guy. Let the cover ups begin. Folks, we might very well be headed towards another "x-gate". http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_new...ocid=ansmsnbc11

Re: CIA Director resigns
The timing raises eyebrows, all right, but seriously, if it's a security risk sufficiently serious to warrant dismissal when an advance team of secret service agents hook up with prostitutes, then surely it's a security risk if the director of an agency as sensitive as the CIA has an extramarital affair.

Re: CIA Director resigns
Maybe there's a greater cover-up, maybe not, but it's certainly plausible that it was due to an affair. If he was lying to the president, there would be trust issues. If there is potential for blackmail. Or, just the idea that your top spy can't successfully hide an affair ... I mean, what's that about??

My prediction: It will come out that Petraeus didn't resign merely because he had an affair, he resigned because of WHO he had an affair with. He's the CIA director. Our national spymaster is never, repeat never, supposed to have an affair with someone who is or might be a foreign agent. That's called a 'honey trap', & it's the definition of unacceptable spycraft since long before Mata Hari.
I don't know that's what happened. But it's a lot more likely as a reason for an immediate resignation than anything to do with Benghazi, no matter how much some might want the latter to be true for unworthy partisan reasons.

http://www.slate.com/blogs/the...biographer.html I'd say there's nothing to see here, no smoking gun, hiden agenda. Nothing more than a dedicated military man doing the honorable thing for an unhonorable deed.

Re: CIA Director resigns
As usual I have questions, although this time it is only one question. Why is Petraeus no longer needed to participate in the Feinstein hearings on Benghazi?

You people are out of your minds. If he knew something about Bhengazi, isn't it better to keep him in a role where he can't talk? Now he's a private citizen and can be called to testify
Get ready for four years of grasping at straws from the RWNJs. They refuse to believe a Democrat can be legitimately elected president and will do anything to delegitimize him

I know its just four Americans. We've got a lot more of them so four isnt really a big deal. But ya know, some people might not like it. What can ya do.

That is a complete fabrication and right wing fantasy. There was no live feed. I don't know if you're a complete liar or just incredibly stupid for believing everything Newsmax tells you. But the fact that you spread such crap, glibly using the deaths of our diplomatic corps to score cheap political points, makes you a disgusting individual. fldore wrote:

Dont get mad at me because you backed a gutless turd for President whose beauty rest is more important than a few inconvenient deaths. Newsmax? Try CBS which actually has a really nice breakdown by minute of the events of Benghazi. When the first shots were fired, when the CIA knew, when Obama was informed, when the first Predator drone arrived on scene to provide the CIA real time intel, and when the second drone arrived to relieve the first one. All it seems to be missing is the exact moment when our Commander in Chief asked for his slippers, cookies, and glass of milk before he left for bed.

Re: CIA Director resigns
You mean the CBS piece that's been completely discredited? You're politicising of this whole thing is absolutely disgusting. You don't give a **** about any Americans who've died in Afghanistan or Iraq over the past decade. but an opportunity to make political hay against Obama, and you're all over it. You're soulless piece of steaming horse ****. fldore wrote:

You're soulless piece of steaming horse ****. Whoa, simmer down. C'mon you voted this guy for President, you didnt marry him. You dont have to pretend to like everything about him. You didnt vote for him because of his amazing foreign policy skills. You didnt vote for him because his Middle East strategy fell apart, because he bows to dictators, because he goes to bed when an embassy of ours is under siege, and because he never closed Guantanano even though he promised the Libs he would. You voted for him because you like higher taxes, bigger government, and more government regulations.
