Karl Rove & Fox News - An Unholy Relationship

Karl Rove & Fox News - An Unholy Relationship

I'm sure by now, you've read or seen the little three act tragicomedy that unfolded live on Fox News last night.

ACT I - Rest of world calls Ohio and the entire election for Obama. In an awkward anticlimactic moment, Fox News follows suit with on air anchors asking each other "what does this mean? Is it over?" as if they'd actually believed their spin that this was going to be a tight election.

ACT II - Guest analyst Karl Rove, a man who runs SuperPacs and is pesonally responsible for 10's of millions of dollars raised for the Romney campaign, steps in and brow beats Fox's top brass for caling the election and cites his own (err... romney's) strategist that Ohio is still too close to call. So for 30 minutes, Fox withdraws its projection, refusing to acknowledge that Obama had won while again, the rest of the world has the story and is running with it.  This moment revealed everything you need to know about this network. Think the scene where  Darth Vader cow tows to the Emperor.

ACT III - Fox obeys their dark lord and literally breaks a camera and host back stage to interview their "decision desk" coordinator, who explains the mathmatical certainty of the moment. Rove still not convinced.  The decision guy explains it AGAIN to Rove's face who just says nothing.  Fox looked HORRIBLE. They were completely missing the truth of the moment and chasing this farce created by the republican party's most powerful political strategist.  No spin zone?  Spun out of control. Fair and balanced?  Just whirled off its axis!  We report it? Rove decides!

The Denoument - the throngs of multicultural cheering for the newly elected president, while the evil lord with  egg-in-his-face just sat there in took it.

Thank god for the legitimate media. I hope they lampoon Fox over this for decades to come.

Letterman will get lots of material out of this.  As will SNL.

I wouldn't miss Letterman tonight for anything.
