You get to predict the Electoral College outcome! Post your prediction before noon central time on Tuesday, in order to be in the contest. If you win, I will personally make a really awesome graphic in honor of your achievement. And, of course, you'll get bragging rights.

Here is a site where you can play with the map: 270 to win

Below are the predictions as seen in the earlier prediction thread. Add yours or clarify your EV votes in responses to this thread. Thanks!

Obama wins with 300+. Won't make a dimes worth of difference who wins. The deficit spending, wars and drone murders will continue unabated regardless.

that 270towin website is not working this morning. For an alternative, here's the NY Times politics page, which has an interactive state-by-state map.

I think Gearhead wins the most accurate pick award, even though it is based entirely on picking personal emotional states, rather than battleground ones. And that's tough, because emotional states are usually ALL swing states!

PS.

Without an exact number of predicted EVs for the winner, you are ineligible for the extremely valuable prizes!!

Well, I'm with geez on Nausea and Pissed Off, with a heaping spoonful of disgust thrown in for flavoring.

I see Obama winning the EV by the skin of his teeth, taking WI and OH for 271. Romney can win all the other swing states and the popular vote and still be on the outside, looking in.

Dore prizes!  Has marketing used that phrase yet? If not, they should. Maybe I'll pass it along with proper credit to you, of course. :)

Oops!--I gave you credit for geez' vote. I feel nauseous & you're both pissed off!

Anyway, the scenario you describe, where Obama wins only WI & OH from among the battleground states, doesn't add up to 271 EVs for him. Not if you count NH, IA, MI, FL & CO as battlegrounds. Maybe your adding skills suffer when you're all emotional?

Re: Unofficial Electoral College Prediction Thread! Play now!

I didnt give specific numbers but I believe I said Ohio wont matter for Romney.  If he takes Ohio, he is over 300, otherwise he'll have to settle somewhere near 285-290.

Independents seem to be going big towards Romney, he is doing much better w/ women than McCain ever dreamed, early voting Democrats are way down, and Republicans are very energized.  Everything seems to be pointing towards a big Romney win.  The only catch is all these battleground polls are extremely close if not leaning towards Obama.  Something doesnt make sense here.  And since most of these polls seem to be weighted too heavily for Democrats, I'm gonna say thats the issue and Romney wins big.

What I really hope though is that we have an answer by tomorrow and it doesnt drag on.

RE: Unofficial Electoral College Prediction Thread! Play now!

Well, I went to the NYT site posted above. If they are correct in the states that are strongly and leaning toward BHO, then he already has 243 EV's.

WI has 10 and OH 18 (according to the site), respectively. So my math has 243 + 28 = 271. So I don't think it's my math that's wrong, but maybe the website's EV counts?

The site only lists CO, IA, WI, OH, VA, NH and FL as tossups. MI is listed as leaning Romney.

Thanks fldore.

In all seriousness, after this thing is over, one of the two of us is going to have to admit that our sources of information are horrible.

Romney wins popular vote.  Electoral College:  Romney 284 Obama 254.

And if President Obama is re-elected, Dick Morris (with his prediction of 330 electoral college votes for Romney) should never show his face on any cable tv news show nor any YouTube video ever again.  In that case, Dick Morris should retire from political punditry.
