Where were u when VU won its first (men's) national championship

Screaming my lungs out at home with tears in my eyes with my wife and kids doing the same (to appease me, while simultaneously looking at me like I'm crazy) and the neighbors calling the cops thinking something seriously ominous is taking place in my house...

JUNE 25, 2014... What a Day... The Vanderbilt jinx is over...

Trying to be quiet to not wake the wife and kids... just me and my dog and my glass of "golden" bourbon, quietly tearing up in my living room.  Looking forward to the love I'll get tomorrow here in SC - the Gamecocks fans here in Charleston have been amazingly supportive of Vandy during the CWS (strangers have come up to me to say nice things when I'm out and about sporting the star-V).  This feels awesome!  Simply awesome!

University Club but ran literally to the football stadium while hearing the foghorn over and over, definitely a Forrest Gump experience.

Sitting at our kitchen table in Augusta, GA, watching on line, listening to Joe's call which was a batter ahead of the online feed. Woke up my wife with my yells of happiness.

Re: Where were u when VU won its first (men's) national

Spent the first two innings at choir practice, the next five at a friend's house (here in Montgomery), and the last two in my study.  I tried to be quiet at the end, but then heard my wife screaming from the bedroom and half ran, half jumped into the room as we hugged and jumped up and down.  Tears streaming down my face.

I know somehow Ben knows what happened and is smiling ear to ear. This team was a lot like him.  Not the most talented we have ever had, but loving, together, teammates that gave it all they had.

To the Vanderbilt boys of summer, and to you, Ben, my heart and soul.  Wish you were here.

At home with my wonderful wife who has "happily" supported my Vanderbilt addiction...btw, home is Vero Beach, FL...my neighbors already think we're nuts because we fly a VU flag--now they may understand why...

I was here at TD ... from the start. And so proud to have numerous of my former teammates here with me. It is a moment in time and my life that I will never forget. Coach TC and these playersvhave achieved the pinnacle of success in college baseball at an incredble CWS venue.   What a gritty, gutsy and determined bunch who will go down in our history books as the first ever. Congrats to all and especially to the players and coaches who have given us the greatest sports moment in our long history.

Re: Where were u when VU won its first (men's) national

Sitting with Dee from Atlanta at Dudley Field. I was hoarse by the 4th inning. People gave us champagne in the parking lot, and we finished the evening with great Vandy fans we just met at Neighbors Bar in Sylvan Park. Just got home. As one of them said, "You know what? We just won a national championship. We can take a nap tomorrow!"

God, I never thought I'd live to see this.
