Re: Chris Harvey

His was one of the names missing from Baseball America's pre-season rankings and review.

I see Harvey as a better starting DH than Norwood, primarily because of his power. Norwood will start occasionally in the outfield and enter a game late as a pinch-runner. I guess we will find out early on if the backup catcher will be Harvey or Lupo. Because of his defensive abilities (and solid hitting), I would like to see Navin stick around for a Senior season ... but let's not worry about that right now.

Harvey could be the right-handed platoon at DH with lefties Wiseman or Andrew Harris. But if he hits RH pitching well, Harvey could start almost every game in order to leave us a couple left-handed bats on the bench. The other three LH batters are regulars Kemp, Gregor and Yaz.

Should Wiseman get significant PT, we could potentially see four Freshmen in the starting lineup at some point -- Campbell, Turner and Swanson would be the others. Wouldn't THAT be interesting? Even if it's a midweek game with one of the Frosh starting on the mound.

FYI, Backup catcher is Harvey.  Only if there is an injury or two is Lupo likely see time behind the plate.  Wiel is also there as an emergency catcher.

If we get a big lead in some midweek game I'd love to see a complete freshman squad on the field.  I believe Corbs has the guys to legitimately do this.
