Jordan Sheffield FB hits 98

Jordan got up to 98 at the Perfect Game tournament recently.
Is he the Vandy signee or is that his brother?

He has verbally committed and I believe we're the favorite for Justus, as well. Going to be tough to get either through the draft, but Vandy has a ton to offer to signees on so many fronts, which is one of the reasons we've had so much success with the draft in the past.

Yep. I believe he was the second one to sign this morning after Karl Ellison.

Note that I have no idea when/if the signatures were faxed in. That info won't come till VUC issues their release.

i love it,this kid can flat out bring some heat.on the other hand we have to expect him to be a high draft pick and we know what that means.ohlord

He is generally considered to be one of the top 2-4 right handed pitchers in high school heading to next year's draft.  Sonny and Beede made it through, but you just can't expect them to fall your way very often.

if he's a top 2-4 rhp with that kinda fastball outta high school, he'll be almost impossible to keep but then again who knows we've seen crazier things happen.

I must confess...my first thoughts on looking at this title was "Why is 98 people on facebook worth mentioning?"

It definitely gives away our age when we use FB to mean fastball instead of facebook.

lol...I'm old, but am in new technology so I try to stay current.  I hope we can land these two brothers.  There's a lot of good sense in spending a few years at VU instead of being carted  around small-town America in the minor leauges on buses and staying in hotels that all look the same.

Re: Jordan Sheffield FB hits 98

I like facebook.  I've lived in lots of places (NYC, Boston, Los Angeles, Washington DC, even Paris for a few months) and facebook is a good way to keep up with people from many places.  I like seeing birthday, graduation, and other pictures and enjoy hearing about friends and friends' childrens' accomplishments.  I keep up with a number of the people I went to VU with and even keep up with several who are there now.

In the old days, we'd write letters and make phone calls, but those are such time consuming activities that one usually only stays in close contact with a few people.  Facebook is so easy, that it's easy to stay in contact with a lot of people.  I still write letters now and then, but far fewer than I used to.

I use Facebook as FRG does. It's not necessary to post personal stuff about yourself there unless you just want to. With family and friends spread all over the country it's a great way to keep in closer touch, keep up with what they are doing, and see pictures of my grandchildren (who are 3000 miles away.)
