Re: a couple of thoughts on this UT first half
I hope they will remember the times they have hung in there despite deficits and had a chance to win when they play the next games and psych themselves up to win, especially at home. They need to practice some about final second "let's not choke" moments too. But they clearly could have won several of these games - this is not a season where there was no hope of winning any of these games. We just didn't finish when we had a gift given us by another team of letting us take a winning shot.
I do wonder if Jeter might have been good to be in for a rebound putback at the end; he seems strong, but I'll let the coaches sort that out.
Edit: Watching it over again just now, it really just seems like a snakebit moment. Johnson took a really good percentage shot and it just didn't go in, then you had two more guys (Odom and Bright) with an opportunity to win it with a tip and neither went in. I don't know if Siakkam or Jeter could have managed any better on tipins or not; it may have just not been meant to be. Sure looked like we had the right play called in this situation at the end.
