RE: Robert Parrish is available

You must not listen to Mike and Mike on ESPN Radio. They spent a great deal of time this morning talking about how RP wants, no needs, a job and how his ex-teammates haven't lifted a finger to help him (his opinion). Whether he has any coaching experience, I don't know, hence my original reservation about his capabilities.

Also, I do not have CKS's ear to whisper in. As others have said here, though, CKS favors coaching a small lineup. I remember the great success CM Newton and Coach Ed had with Will and Frank Kornet.

Does anyone disagree that our bigs could use some extra coaching? Is it a bad idea to look into seeing if an NBA hall-of-fame player (as a true center) could help?

Nope, I don't listen to Mike and Mike.  Did they say that RP wants a job coaching in college or the pros?  What makes you think he would have any interest in coming to Nashville?  Further, why would you want him at Vandy if his teammates have not lifted a finger to help him?  Presumably, Bird and McHale know a lot more about coaching talent than you, I, or Mike and Mike.

I think our coaches did a fantastic job developing Festus Ezeli.  Prior to Festus, I doubted they were up to the task, but they helped turn him from an incredibly raw athlete into a tremendous basketball player.

Sounds exactly like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's situation a few years ago.
