I don't blame him one bit for what he did under the circumstances.
He had behaved himself all game long, despite the constant taunting, just as he has behaved himself well since the Vandy game, after which he was given a talking-to.
I am sure if Coach Kennedy and our players thought that in this particular instance, Marshall's actions were unjustified, they would have intervened, as would the officials have.
That they didn't, when in previous such situations they have, should tell you all you need to know.
In one of my very few trips to see Vanderbilt play on the road, I went to the 2005 game vs. Florida in the O'Connell Center. The students focused on Holwerda, pointing to his geeky appearance and his thinning hairline at age 21. Really pathetic stuff, and it got really just horrible. What did he do? Played basketball.
A representative of a university should be held to some standards.
But Marshall Henderson makes DeMarcus Cousins look like a saint. And there is zilch in the way of excuses for behaving the way he does. Kennedy has sold his soul to get on the right side of the NCAA bubble, and I understand Ole Miss has had some painful near misses in the past, but I wish Henderson nothing but the worst.
