Is there any doubt this guy is making his first and final trip through the SEC?  No way he comes back next year after these antics.  His life would be in jeopardy if he had to make his way around the SEC again.

I find his antics hilarious and entertaining....he is quite a representative example of what some of our SEC coaches will do to try to win. He, actually, is not such a great talent that will be able to carry a team... he has just had some good fortune (especially against us), but his success will be short-lived and Ms will eventually be in the middle of the SEC pack. Remember, they lost to MTSU at home, and Ms will eventually implode....until then, it's quite a comedic show.

Said it before, someone needs to place a well timed elbow to this guys jaw. Hopefully, after he has to go to the hospital to have it reset, he will quit this crap. What an idiot!

Re: OT: Hendrson Represents Ole Miss Well

If you don't go to the tournament for a decade, you do what you can I suppose.  To date, the most publicity Kennedy has had in his tenure was for getting into it with a cab driver.

I said it last week, and I'm more convinced I was right now.  He's the biggest punk I may have ever seen in the SEC.  I know everyone hated Cousins, and for good reason.  But this clown is of a similar mentality, but instead of a mean old SOB like Calapari to watch over him, Henderson has a coach who really doesn't care.  Perfect fit.

I do agree that there is almost no way he is back.  The record reflects 4 schools in 4 years, and it will take some talented trial lawyers to keep this one out of trouble.

Really funny - jail within 5 years is my guess. The lack of self control will catch up with this kid - IMO

In addition to being what can't be written on this site, he is the 2nd lowest percentage shooter of the SEC's top 25 scorers at 38.8 percent.  Lots of guys can lead the league in scoring if they're selfish "just get me the ball" holes.  Will be fun to see this punk get pelted by every possible form of negativity while he soils college courts with his presence.  He may even get that broken jaw in the locker room from his own teammates.  Embarrassment.

Those Auburn students had been taunting him......

ALL GAME LONG!!  Hurling slurs, cheering when he got fouled, etc.

I don't blame him one bit for what he did under the circumstances.

He had behaved himself all game long, despite the constant taunting, just as he has behaved himself well since the Vandy game, after which he was given a talking-to.

I am sure if Coach Kennedy and our players thought that in this particular instance, Marshall's actions were unjustified, they would have intervened, as would the officials have.

That they didn't, when in previous such situations they have, should tell you all you need to know.

Re: OT: Hendrson Represents Ole Miss Well

The reason he has a low shooting percentage is that just about all his shots are from behind the arc.  That he still shoots almost 40% despite practically never taking a shot from less than 25 feet is incredibly impressive.

Excuse and enable.  That's how a nut like this goes to 4 schools in 4 years.  If he was at MSU you would be screaming about how big of a goon he is and you absolutely know that to be true.

Pathetic.  Are you so starved for sports relevance that you can overlook his childish behavior?

Re: OT: Hendrson Represents Ole Miss Well

I'm sure that the Auburn fans had been taunting him, but some players bring it on themselves.

We've had some star players over the years... in recent times being Byars, Foster, Ogilvie, Jenkins, Taylor, Festus.... I don't recall a single one of them ever acting like Henderson does now and like Cousins did at UK.

And I'm not implying that it's just our players who know how to behave. I've seen other players in the SEC be singled out and taunted... they knew how to act. Wayne Chism at UT got his share of jeers. I don't remember him acting like a fool. Big Baby Davis has taken some big time fouls; he just shakes it off.

Self control.

He beat us fair and square.
His behavior and antics are not our problem. Concentrate on our team.

The taunted him? All game long?? Oh my goodness gracious, how terrible! Maybe someone shoud talk to Vandy's own Perry Wallace about being taunted on a basketball court

Henderson's display came after the game had ended, & Kennedy & the officials were off the floor. So that part of your post is not pertinent.

And you're defending Henderson's behavior on the basis that the Auburn fans had earned it, through their own behavior. By that logic, the Auburn fans should have taken his *** down & beaten him to a pulp. Because it would have been justified by his behavior.

Needless to say, I disagree.

He did not do anything during THIS game that could be considered "bringing it on himself."  Not one time did he behave inappropriately.

I realize every fan and student body in the SEC has now seen him on TV and that he has become a "celebrity" of sorts and that their taunting was probably due in part to how they had seen him behave in previous games....and due to the fact that he has such a high profile now.

But there is such a thing as piling on.....and I seriously doubt any of the other players you mentioned ever experienced anything like the obscene behavior of the Auburn student section on Saturday.

I also wonder if there is a sort of "reverse racism" going on here--I mean, how often does a white kid ever excel in basketball in the SEC, any more?  Are some of these white kids taunting him jealous of him because of that and is that one of the motives behind the taunting?

I would have preferred that Marshall not have done what he did, but everybody is human and has a breaking point and I think that needs to be taken into account.  That's all.

RE: OT: Hendrson Represents Ole Miss Well

NJreb, you are not helping by justifing his actions. He has brought this on himself by his prior antics this year. And Hank, we can talk about this because he is making the whole SEC look bad. And I for one, am tired of talking until I am blue in the face about the issues this current team has. It's nice to be able to talk about some irrelevant idiot and another team's problems.

Pathetic

Your attempted justification of this guy is laughable.

Like a previous poster stated, if this was a MSU player you would be all over him. He is what he is, he is a punk.

Most student sections pick a player and they harrass him every game but for some reason this guy should be allowed and justified to act like a douche? Yea, ok......

Re: OT: Hendrson Represents Ole Miss Well

I understand the point that you're trying to make, but it doesn't hold water.  I distinctly remember an incident far more egregious from the Tennessee fans toward Matt Walsh from Florida.  His girlfriend had done some sort of nude-photo (I don't remember what it was), but their whole student section had copies and would show it during his free-throw attempts.  He didn't react like that (and if he did, that is far more justifiable).  I think Vanderbilt fans even cheered all game long "Walsh you suck!" whenever he got the basketball in Memorial gym.  I don't remember Walsh acting like Henderson.

I also don't think it's racism.  Matt Freiji for Vanderbilt was white, and was the best player in the league that year.  A.J. Ogilvy was one of our better players, he was white, and wasn't treated poorly.  (I don't think that Henderson is the best player in the league this year, he's just a good scorer).  Perhaps someone comparable to Henderson in terms of their style of play would be Rotnei Clark.  He was white, and he never was "taunted" like Henderson nor acted like him.
