Barry Goheen mention on GameDay today... haha

They had a whole segment about the Jerome Lane dunk where he broke the backboard earlier that year.

At the very end, Reece Davis said "Ironic that it's the dunk that is talked about, but it was a 3 pointer at the buzzer by Vanderbilt's Barry Goheen that sent the game in to OT and sent Pitt home"

You just never know when you'll hear stuff...lol

That game was awesome, I still remember it well.

2 incredible three pointers in the last 12 seconds±, not just that single buzzer-beater!

The Jerome Lane dunk was against Providence though, not Vandy right?

Correct....

It was during the same season which eventually ended with their NCAA loss to Vanderbilt though, thats why Vanderbilt was mentioned.

Rece is a Bama guy, but seems to have a soft spot for the Dores.  He is usually very complimentary of us.

He does indeed.  He will slip an occasional "Show Your Gold!" into a discussion of Vandy, which means he's an old school fan.

Re: Amazing game. The 04' NC State game was just as good...

and I'd say for a regular season game, the game where Shan got medieval on MSU by canning treys from Siberia all night long was hard to beat (I was there; it was something to behold-- probably the best VU game I have seen in person).

The Pitt game (for me) was certainly the most special of the three because I saw it with my dad, my cousin, and with my grandpa when he was still living. We were all going nuts in the living room of that quaint country home, lol. Priceless.
