For someone who uses his quote on his page, I thought you might appreciate the humor. Instead, all it did was bring out your good side. You know, the prickly one.

Openly be a smart aleck and belittle what someone likes, and then say "I was only joking."

I think I've seen that particular tactic employed elsewhere once or twice in my travels through the years.
