If you need it in grade school terms, nobody accuses, say, commentators of "bashing players and coaches" when they make suggestions on how players or a coaches might improve themselves on the field/the court, etc.

So why is it such a big deal here, I wonder? It is not "bashing" to offer an honest critique of another human being.

It just irks me that some people here are too dumb to grasp this simple concept. Some people need to grow up and understand that criticism is a part of life, that no one is immune to it, and that's just how it is.

Hell, I'm a writer and an artist; I get it constantly, and it hurts. It can be downright demoralizing, but it's also the only way a person grows.

So it's not all bad, trust me. And those who believe it is are just wrong and/or naive.
