He will be good, like I said, I've watched him for 5 years since he was a skinny tall kid on the freshman team and he is the best player I have seen come out of our high school, but I'm only 33 and wasnt alive to see Joe Namath and a couple other greats we had in the 1970s. He flew a bit under the radar because of the football nature of our area and a broken wrist his junior year. I felt he was underated as the #150 prospect in the country but I'm obviously biased.
He's a good kid too, never got in any trouble that I know of.
It's in the water I guess, it was a surprise he was so tall, 6-3 or 6-4 is normal for the Jeters, not 6-7 or 6-8. They are a basketball family, his uncle Lance was PG for Nebraska, his aunt "Fred" won a D-2 national championship at New Haven and his dad played at Tenn-Chattanooga.
The credit for putting the meat on goes to Sheldon, he got himself a personal trainer that specializes in weight training and he put a lot of beef on before senior year. But some credit goes to Vandy too because he looks even beefier than last season, must be some good food down there and I saw the video of them working out. He's a worker.
He's come a long way, he used to get beat up when he was a sophomore if he went inside, he was very skinny. So he played guard.
Oddly enough, he almost committed to South Carolina, he went on a visit when Horn was still the coach and he wanted to commit after Horn had Dwayne Wade call him on the phone but his dad told him to wait until after his Wisconsin and K-St visits, then Vandy came back in to the picture...
