Don't forget...

Don't forget...

The technical foul on Stallings cost VU 5 points which would have been good enough to win.  Not bashing Stallings, in fact, I support him, but missed free throws, a costly technical, and probably missing a crucial timeout all contributed to the debacle.

Really only cost them 2 pts since Henderson was fouled on the 3 and was shooting 3 regardless of the T but your point is noted.  It certainly looks bad in hindsight.  However, one could probably just as easily argue the team spurted after that T and took a lead.

Two points about that, though your main point -- only 2 FTs for the technical, not 5 -- stands on its own obvious merit.

One: Henderson completely leaned in & was responsible for all contact, for a fact. If I'm the coach, I'm protesting that crappy call, too. We see this kind of call go this way a lot, but not without justifiable complaints, 'cause they're bad calls.

Two: On top of which, Henderson proceeded to celebrate his con job on the refs, laughing & mouthing off, like the jerk/thug so many on this forum called him. If I'm the coach, I'm pointing that vile behavior out to the refs, angrily.

So if one of the refs decides to issue a T for those two perfectly understandable, nay justifiable, protests, if I'm in the audience and/or the poster, I'm saying &%$)# you, ref!

What they said!

It was a bogus call to begin with. Henderson took off from behind the arc and the contact was 2 or 3 feet inside the arc. Stallings needed to gripe about it. And the 'Dores were spurred by that series of events and quickly made up more than the 5 points.
