You want higher percentages, eh? Well, through last night's game, this team is shooting .405 on its 2-pointers, for 0.81 pts/shot, as compared to .345 on its treys, for 1.04 pts/shot.
Counting only the 8 games in Memorial, the team is shooting .454 on 2-pointers, for .91 pts/shot, and .397 on its treys, for 1.19 pts/shot.
Now we're all aware that you can't just just compare these numbers directly to each other, 'cause other factors weigh in, like more rebounds, etc.
But the point is that it's by no means a slam dunk that shooting more 2-pointers is the way for this team to go, especially when we're playing at home. Sure, it would be absolutely great to get lots of layups, but that's easy to say, difficult to execute. It may be that, this season, playing at home, jacking up a ton of treys may be this team's best shot, percentage-wise.
