RE: Last night, Vandy set the all time Memorial record for 3's
Good things seem to happen when Odom, DJP, and Jeter are on the floor together. They were on the floor together for the run against Kentucky. DJP has really impressed at times since he came back, he just needs to be more consistent with it. Jeter played well last night, I wonder if he got a little tired last night playing so many minutes, 32, which was a career high, he will usually make a wide-open 3 pointer and he missed a couple of those late in the game. CKS has done an excellent job bringing Jeter along this year, not only is he a freshman but he is making a big adjustment from being a HS star to a freshman role player. Stallings really deserves credit for how Jeter has gotten better as the year has went on, he stuck with him and gave him 10-15 minutes every night early in the year even when he was obviously learning on the fly and I think the 4 minute scolding at MTSU really sent Jeter a message because since then, he has really contributed a lot, he needs to get his FT stroke back though because if he continues to get 25-30 minutes he will go to the line a lot and he also has to get better on defense. Bright looked great spotting up from 3 but he also had a team-high 4 turnovers and made some careless passes last night. Will be interesting to see if Stallings runs the same lineup Saturday or maybe that was a 1 night thing to try and match up with the Rebels. At the very least I think DJP may have earned another start over Fuller, Jeter/Bright is a coin flip, they both contributed very similar games. 13 points 4 rebounds and 12 points 4 rebounds. Jeter turned it over once, Bright 4 times.
I agree with you on the redundancy on the forum, it's one thing to criticize the coach but I dont think the same poster should be allowed to make multiple threads all evening bashing the coach and subtly bashing some players. The armchair coaches with hindsight to their benefit is really annoying. But this is the most popular Vandy forum so I'll deal with it, as soon as it was evident that they were gonna lose I had to log off as the Stallings haters really started coming out of the woodwork then to armchair coach and take their shots.
This young team is getting better and I enjoy watching them.
