Juwaan Williams
Committing tonight at 9:00 on Fox SportsSouth. Between us and Oregon (apparently he's eliminated Clemson, Florida State and Notre Dame among others). Anyone have any insight on Juwaan's choice? We could really use another safety, though he played QB in high school so will probably need to redshirt to really learn the position.
You have to like the fact that his Oregon visit was way back in October but he visited us last weekend with all the commitments.

Re: Juwaan Williams
I like our chances, if it is down to VU and Oregon. I read about another recruit from the SE that loved his visit to Oregon last weekend but he committed elsewhere because it took him 14 hours to get there. Hopefully, Juwaan comes to the same realization.

He may only truly have one option.

RE: Juwaan Williams
Oregon bound, we like him but are waiting on some guys higher on the board with limited numbers. Interestingly enough Oregon plans to start him out at CB, personally don't see anyway Juwaan can play CB at a high level could be a very good S though. Good luck to him in Eugene.

Re: Juwaan Williams
I'm by far not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I didn't understand this thread at all. Started out with Williams gonna announce at 9pm, somebody liking our chances, then some kind of cryptic message and it is over and he is bound for Oregon. Did I miss something? Is he narrowed down to Oregon and VU and going to announce or is that not gonna happen now?

RE: Juwaan Williams
Would Oregon really have sent 5 of their coaches to Juwaan's house if he wasn't seriously considering somewhere other than Oregon? That struck me as him being a likely Vanderbilt lean and Oregon trying to sway his decision... but Kerrig typically knows the inside scoop.
I would be ecstatic to have Mr. Williams in the fold (and Oregon's coaching staff obviously feels the same way). I'll be curious to hear the final word!

numbers don't seem to limit UGA's commitment list
Georgia has 29 commitments according to Scout.

They have 13 early enrollees because they only had 72 on scholarship last year.

Re: Juwaan Williams
I think he had fallen into the best available category and didn't realize the choice was not his to make. He could still say he is making the choice and nobody know the difference. Or maybe something has changed and he is best available now.

I don't recall more than just a very rare event that this cap wearing thing turned out well for us. Cap selection is not our strength.

Pretend I don't have a twitter account.

Can someone please explain why it is this guy is most likely not headed our way? Pretend I don't have a twitter account. We are currently under a numbers crunch. Last weekend, CJF mentioned something along the lines of 5 open slots, looking for a TE, RB, S, LB, and best vailable. Well, since then we have gotten Vandenburg and Parsons to commit, which takes a TE and another slot...meaning we probably have 3 slots up for grabs. Still on the board: Dayes Zac Cunningham Jordan Cunningham Moore Williams Duncan These seem like the most likely 5 to fill these 3 spots. It seems as though the staff is likely looking at taking the best available players to fill out the class at this point, with the exception of adding another RB. (hopefully Dayes or Duncan) LBs - Z Cunningham and Skai Moore are possibilities at that spot. If you get Dayes (high possibility) and it looks like Zac Cunningham is a strong possibility at LB, you have one slot left. They were targetting a Safety, which fits Juwaan Williams. But then you would have to pass on a consensus top 15 WR in Jordan Cunningham. what's the better option? Word is that Williams may not be a real possibility if CJF and crew have a good feeling about some other prospects. But nobody knows for sure what CJF is doing, other than staff. In short, if Williams announces tonight that he is going to be a Dore, then that's great...he's a good prospect. If he doesn't, it could be an indicator that CJF has a couple of other prospects that he thinks are "in the bag". This is solely my opinion from reading between the lines.

Re: Juwaan Williams
One issue with Williams is that he wants to play on the offensive side of the ball, whereas we project him to safety, a position of need for us.

Thanks for clearing that up zman. The pay is good, but I'd hate to live the life of a coach. --------------------------------------------- --- zman22 wrote: UtahVandy wrote: I'm still not able to read between the lines here.
