I'm so glad that so many people who post on this forum were wrong.
Now that this has happened, can we forever make a pledge to stop claiming that "so and so is going pro because they have nothing else to prove?"
This is Vanderbilt.
This isn't UT, or Florida, or Kentucky.
This is a university.
This is not about having things to prove.

Everything in good marketing is a calculated move. And so was this.
He drew everyone in so that everyone would put the focus on a Vanderbilt student athlete honoring his school. An announcement of this could have easily been made without fanfare.
But we finally have an administration and staff that understands why the fanfare matters.

I don't know about "forever" because fir every Jordan Matthews and Peyton Manning there are 10 that make the decision to go for the wrong reasons and end up regretting it....but I do get your point Bill.

Good to see someone make the right decision. Very few athletes make the right decision when they leave early. They just need to buy and insurance policy. I hope Matthews gets one. Manning got his from Lloyd's of London.
