RE: Already getting owned...
I get it, poo poo on A&N, but let them leave and be done with it. The last thing I want to see on a Tech message board is endless postings about aggies. I know, I know, I did not have to open it, but you could have also just taken to the rivalries board to begin with.

RE: Already getting owned...
BJ....you must be on the rag this week...seems you are going after everyone this week.
Not that you are wrong about this belonging in rivalries....because you are correct...just lack tact.
That being said....I think it is funny if they are going to have to move their student section....

I guess BJ hasn't come down from his OOC rant on the schedule thread and is ready to pounce. Tread lightly gentlemen.

I think A&M should just let the students sit there and pay the fine.

RE: Aggy already in a fight with SEC
I like the comment someone said that their reason for leaving was so that they would be treated as an equal, but they want to treated differently on this.

Re: Aggy already in a fight with SEC
I'll start with saying that I'm not one of those RP ers who hate all things Aggy. I also understand the value they place on their traditions. However, I find the attitude of the students and administration funny. I mean the student senate actually met on this? They are joining the strongest conference in football, steeped in traditions (and a buttload of MNCs), and instead of playing ball, they're trying to get a rule changed on student seating? BTW, I liked on of the comments about their male cheerleaders being more intimidating than their home-field advantage.

Re: Aggy already in a fight with SEC
The bill stated that "any reduction of student section seating … is detrimental to the 'traditions and pageantry the 12th Man brings to Kyle Field.'"
x infinity.
Yep, that's the bunch of self-righteous idiots who won't be missed. Have fun with this, SEC.
As part of Texas A&M's revered 12th Man tradition, students stand throughout the game in a show of readiness to join the team on the field if called upon.
Wait, this is really why they claim they stand the whole time? I thought we ended the tradition of some regular aggy playing on kickoffs back in the day. When was the last aggy to walk out of the stands onto the field? At least we had Lynnwood, so maybe we should start using "12th Man." (Some aggy is probably drawing up a lawsuit threat over this right now even though they don't have a law school.)
"Our first reaction was, 'This is not good.' We were upset," student body president Jeff Pickering told The Battalion."I asked people to start thinking of scenarios for, 'If we have to adapt, how can we adapt?'"
Behold the analytical prowess of the aggy student body. I've got a crazy idea.....shut up, stop taking your lame crowd so damn seriously, and simply f***ing move to abide by the rules of your new conference.
"I just try to concentrate on what I can control, and that's me going out and believing in myself." - Wes Welker

RE: Aggy already in a fight with SEC
I'll just say this. MSU was able to bypass this law with their cow bell tradition due to it always being in place. The Aggies are trying to see if there is something that can be done to leave our quite famous student section alone.
I don't think A&M is unwilling to play ball but this rule has been bent in the name of tradition before and A&M is seeing if it is an option.
Not sure how the students are planning to handle this but I know our administration is working to see if we can keep the student section in tact as is.

Your post shows major fail. There is still a walk on who is in on every single kick off. Same as it has been since as long as I can remember.

Re: Aggy already in a fight with SEC
Watching the trainwreck that is going to be Aggie in the SEC is a heck of a lot funner than watching the trainwreck that we have endured in our own back yard.
