2014 Basketball Recruiting

Hey guys here is a list comprised of 2014 basketball prospects that Temple has been linked to. Not 100% sure if Temple has serious interest in all the young men listed (or vice versa) but they have appeared to at least have reached out.

The first post should be updated regularly as we get more information on recruiting. Please feel free to add players to interested list or move players down into the not interested list. A lot of what happens to 2014 recruiting is contingent on who Temple can get to finish out 2013.

RE: 2014 Basketball Recruiting

Just added Nana Foulland to the recruit list above (6'-9" PF from Berks Catholic). A post was created perviously referencing Coach Dunphy checking him out about a month ago. Apparently most of locals are looking at this kid (Drexel, Penn St., St. Joe's...et.) 6'-9" guys don't grow on trees..........LOL

Foulland is #20 in white.

RE: 2014 Basketball Recruiting

Temple offers Rashaan Hollaway

It seems Rashaan spent about 4+ hours visiting
Temple Friday morning during which time Temple offered him.  Rashann is a junior at the at Schalick High School which has an enrollment of 562 in Salem County.
The school iis Part of the Tri-County Distict encompassing public and private schools from Camden to shore  areas.  The biggest school in the area is Williamstown High school.
The entire Temple staff watched Rashaan play a game on February 11, 2013.   On March 10, 2013 he watched Temple play VCU

Verbal Commits is a great website. I've been visiting the website since this past summer and it has great info. I would definitely recommend looking up potential prospects thru this site.

RE: 2014 Basketball Recruiting

Temple is now in the picture for 2014 (MD) PF Tariq
Owens. He will decide between Temple, VCU, and Miami (FL) later in May.

6’8 2014 Tariq Owens- St.
Vincent Palotti HS- Baltimore, MD

Owens came into the event with little to no hype or fanfare, but the Amile
Jefferson body clone was one of the surprise players and did more to advance his
stock than any single player. The long and wiry athletic wing has a nice
midrange shooting touch. He is active on both ends of the court. He has fast
switch muscles and is extremely quick off his feet. His length allows him to
alter and block shots. Owens stated he has an offer from USF and is getting
interest from Maryland, Miami, George Mason and Tennessee. Look for his stock
continues to rise. He is definitely a prospect that high majors should monitor
over the upcoming season and next spring/summer.

RE: 2014 Basketball Recruiting

Thanks for the info OB. Williams's hs coach has stated that Temple is the front runner for his serves. This is an opportunity for Dunph and his staff to close the deal. Demonstrate to the kid that their is no need to to take his other visits and make Temple his home for the next 4yrs. Come on coach.

RE: 2014 Basketball Recruiting

Rashaan Armstead   6' 9" 250 told COBL - City of Basketball Love that he has an offer from Temple he is 250 down from 270 and also plays football for his HS team.

philly.com had this on him.  No evaluation from Scout or Rivals

Rashaan Armstead-Holloway Schalick 6-9 Junior He averaged 17 points and 12 boards. Drawing major recruiting interest. Soft hands and good skills for a big man. Like Maddred, needs to continue to develop every-possession intensity.

RE: 2014 Basketball Recruiting

Martez Walker is visitng Texas and Central Florida  this week and will then decide.   Texas is loaded with guards having 2  star and a 3 coming in this year along with a young guard who is their number 2 scorer last year.

RE: 2014 Basketball Recruiting

Not that concern with getting Walker or Williams. If they decide to become Owls great if they don't wish ya the best. Would love for the Owls to finish out with Jaylen Bond and focus on 2014. Owls should be sitting on stable ground, at least in the very near future, and the staff won't have any perceived hindrance. A 2014 class of Elijah Cain, Mikal Bridges, & Andre Walker would be a great class.

RE: 2014 Basketball Recruiting

Thanks for the info OB. If we lock up Bond this could end up being a solid class despite the high profile misses.
