Next big (little) Rhule change: Helmets
Did have a chance to talk to Matt about this in December and he said he was NOT in favor of Daz changing the helmets back to the T and indeed advised Daz against it. Don't know if that translates into a helmet change for Temple, but I hope so. http://templefootballforever.b...l-pursuits.html |

Nothing says small time, like TEMPLE spelled out on the helmet. It looks like a D3 helmet. But If you guys think you have better "luck" whatever.

I voted for the '][', but TEMPLE is not small time. Nor do I think anyone who wants the school name thinks its lucky. It's really a matter of taste. Yes, I'm responding to the troll, sorry.

Can we PLEASE stick to a brand iso playing musical chairs with it every damn season.
Mid court at the LC is a "T". USE it for all of our athletic teams.
In fact, I'd implement the symbol on our uni's as well, replacing the T across the chest with the university T

It's way outdated and I don't know if it ever was "in" anyway. The block stripe on the pants has always been cool. The Temple T aligns better with the block stripe. In the end, it won't matter to me that much. But, the Temple T is way better than the spelled out Temple. |

The beauty of my solution is that the people who like the T can have the T on one side and the people who like TEMPLE can have TEMPLE on the other.
Rhule likes TEMPLE.
I hope he's able to get approval from the higher-ups to change it back to the way Golden had it or keep the T on the other side for people who like that.
Golden's thinking on the matter was pretty solid.

The Temple T is much better. The TEMPLE spelled out was okay as a commemorative throwback thing but that's it. The T is the official branding logo. We should all know by now how these sudden uniform changes doesn't always work out for us sans the Rutgers game. Leave the T alone. Don't have to spell out an butt kicking!

Remember the days of the white helmet with Hooter face on it? That was only worse than the flying Hooter white helmet. Stick with the T. That is our logo.

This is why we have never been able to build tradition. We're always changing.
We had an Xtra Point club. No more. We had LOI events on campus. No more.
After attending this year's event in NYC, i hope, pray this is something we do every damn year for the rest of the time i'm alive.
Same thing goes with the helmet. Temple was a moniker used during BA's tenure. It worked then, it doesn't now. Our logo, our brand and most importantly OUR IDENTITY is the "T". USE IT EFFECTIVELY!!!!!!!!!!
You want to break out the TEMPLE helmets once a year for nostaglia purposes? I'm all for that..........do it for the season opener, Homecoming..........whenever........but for god sakes, let's keep one logo that is used by the University and our athletic teams.
You don't see Temple on the buildings. You see a "T" and that's how folks identify us.

keep the T on the helmet and use it as the primary logo, get rid of the stupid owl face altogether and keep the owl swooping in as the alternate logo.

Isn't that the truth.
Spend some money and have the Owl logo REDONE.
There's a small college in Massachusetts called Westfield St. Their mascot is also an Owl and if you look at their logo and compare it to our Owl logo, we're the one who is small time.

I don't know if I like their logo...I really do like our logo of the Owl, just the head looks awesome. The Westfield State owl is worse than Temple's, IMO. NJOwl wrote: Isn't that the truth.

I'd like an Owl version of Bowling Green's falcon (at least I'd like to see it if I could see if I like it). Having an Owl logo with sharp lines like the Temple T would make sense.
My guess, though, is that the university has done a lot of market research on this and found that at least some demographic they want to reach likes the cartoon owl. I hope they did research. I hope it wasn't some guy in an office saying "I like that one."

If they dont stick with the T I hope they come up with a new "Temple" helmet. The one we used back in the day and a few years ago was awful. The T helmet they have now is really good and shouldnt be changed, but if it is, the helmet from the "Golden Age" is not the answer.

To the two D bags that called me out, I'm a Boise and Temple fan. I watched every Temple game this year, and was planning on coming to a game this fall. I was simply stating my feelings on the old helmet design. I have the same feelings on Boise's old helmet that spelled out "Boise State" alongside the horse head. I much prefer the new design. How many big time programs have to spell out the name of their college on their helmet?
Some of you appear to be pretty quick to judge, I guess you feel Temple is doing just fine and doesn't need any new fans like myself.
