Political correctness is sickening to me. Tood bad Culliver can't speak his mind without being gutted bt a liberal press.

Regardless of your position on the subject, Chris should've known better to do this on air, especially during the week of the Superbowl. I'm sure his teammates love the distraction it brings.

Re: Chris Culliver
when I was playing I felt the same way, said so and don't apologize for it now 30 years later either. You better be willing to stand by what you say if you are going to open your yap.
I like taters, franch fried taters, tater tots, tater salad, tater soup. But my most favorite tater is one that just got whooped by a gamecock.

Re: Chris Culliver
The only thing I can say is Culliver needs to understand that talking to the media is like walking through a mine field. It's okay to have an opinion but there are times when you shouldn't share them with certain people. Unfortunately we live in a society where political correctness governs our speech. One of the things I miss about New Zealand is that the people, along with Australians, do not do the PC thing. The most qualified person gets the job, if you want to live there then learn to speak English...and they'll tell you if you don't like it, they can show you where the airport is!

Everyone is free to say what they want too..
but you cant then turn around and complain about the consequences that happen. Its not like anyone with half a brain couldnt guess that talking about that topic would result in a backlash...
so why even do it and set yourself up for the criticism and public scrutiny...
its not about PC..its about common sense...

I was ready to award him with a badge of honor or a medal of courage or something until he went and apologized. Come 'on man, stick by your convictions! Don't cower down to anyone.
PS - It was funny as well but I guess only if you were from the days of Archie Bunker and 3's Company which I am and so very glad!

I guess he felt he had no choice. Funny how one group can talk it up, but another group had better keep their mouth shut.

I think it's wrong to say how you feel (what ever the subject) and then have to recant your statement because it goes against the grain. No one cares how you feel so long as you stay within a certain guideline. I don't like gays and never will. I think the closet door should have been kept closed on that. Queer is odd, fag is a cigarette, and homosexual is just that. You should be ashamed to say you do that.

RE: Chris Culliver
I'm a Christian guy, and I believe in the Biblical passage, 'Hate the sin, not the sinner.' I have several friends, both male and female, who are gay. They are good people. I'd do anything I could for them, if the need arose. However, I can't condone their lifestyle, and I don't appreciate the 'in your face' tactics of some folks. Not my friends, they don't act that way, but many others do. You live your way, I'll live mine, I'll stay out of your business, but don't force your beliefs on me, and I won't do the same to you.
That's my take on it, and it's worked pretty well for me. I don't hate anyone.

RE: Chris Culliver
I do think its funny how the responses from those upset with his remarks usually have namecalling involved and calls for him to shut up. Isn't it ironic when tolerance results in intolerance?
For what it is worth....I don't agree with much of what he said. I do feel that if one group of people can be proud of their orientation, than other people should be able to express their disdain...and not be punished for their beliefs just because they are not what is considered acceptable for the moment. Tolerance is not defined as acceptance of what you find ok...it's acceptance of what you do not. I think it sad when that is ignored in the name of "Tolerance."

Re: Chris Culliver
I don't think the word "Jesus" is in my statement. I just believe people should be able to say how they feel without pressure being put on them by someone else because of their belief. I don't like homosexuals and never will. That is not a statement of hate. Don't try and read something in my belief and make it sound like I was saying it.

RE: Chris Culliver
You may need to read the bible a little more often if your a christian. The bible speaks clearly against homosexuals. Does'nt say anything about hating a sin and not a sinner.

OK, you're right. That's more of a mantra spoken by ministers, and I've heard that statement spoken so often, I've come to accept it as Biblical fact. But how about these? Love thy neighbor as thyself.......Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.....Or, this one, which is most important....Judge not, lest ye be judged? To me, the last one is most important, because it's not our place, as we are all sinners, to judge the sins of another. That's left up to the Almighty on Judgement Day. Yes, the Bible speaks out against homosexuality. But no, it's not our place to condemn, although Christians are allowed, as Jesus was, to react with righteous indignation when confronted with sin. Jesus himself did that when he ran the gamblers out of the Temple. Again, Judgement and Condemnation is left for God to decide when that day comes. And Christ said that any man can be saved, if he repents of his sin and accepts the gift of Salvation.....even on his death bed.

This one of the things that gets me the most. People hear quotes spoken or they take out the ones they want to take. Some even misread them but here is what I am talking about and I am using what jacket stated as a basis for it. The Bible is telling you there that you are not to judge a man, without the proper training to judge him. The Bible is suppose to be used a learning tool so that you may be able to judge wisely.
If I just wanted to just pick out a verse, I could say that "you will know a tree by the fruit it bears".
