How UGA Will Win the East
Hard to believe, but it seems pretty likely now... http://blogs.ajc.com/barnhart-...elp-in-the-bcs/

Re: How UGA Will Win the East
It's possible, but I wouldn't say pretty likely. With USC, Florida, UGa and Ky still alive, nothing is likely. I still like our position better than any of the others.

RE: How UGA Will Win the East
Likely? Nah. It's just a possible scenario. My guess is that Florida will get back up for the Cocktail Party, and UGA will be overconfident after destroying Vandy. And then there's Auburn.
If we win out, we win the east. If we beat Florida, Vandy & UT and lose to Arkansas, we win the east, so long as someone beats UK. We're still in the driver's seat, we just need to play like we did against UGA & Bama.

RE: How UGA Will Win the East
Assuming Georgia beats Idaho State and Georgia Tech, they still need to win another game to even get in a bowl. With games at Kentucky, Florida in Jacksonville, and at Auburn, I think the odds are higher that they'll spend the holidays at home than they are that they'll win the east.
Don't panic

Uh, I think right now... if USC doesn't win the east it's because UK did. They hold the tie breaker over us.

Quite acting like a Bama fan. When you beat a program of relevance more than twice in 20 years then you can talk big boy football. Now run along little kitty, basketball season started Friday

Re: How UGA Will Win the East
Had we won the KY game, there would be so many scenarios in the head-to-head SEC games remaining that would play in our favor at 3-1, with everyone else but Vandy with 3 or more losses.
Now, KY (1-3 SEC) has the tie breaker over us and the second easiest remaining schedule (UGAg, at MSU, Vandy & at UcheaT), followed by UF (2-3 SEC) with the easiest schedule (GA, Vandy and us). I do not think we can count on Vandy or UcheaT winning any of their games that would help us, unless the Viles can upset KY at home during the last weekend of the season.
So, I guess we have to pull for UGA (2-3 SEC) to beat KY and then lose to Auburn. I think it helps if the Dawgs beat UF, since we have the tie breaker, but I do not think they will beat UF. So, UGA could end up 4-4 (by beating UF and KY) or 3-5 (by losing to UF and Auburn). Of course, they could lose to KY but that doesn't help us, except in recruiting, unless they beat UF.
We need KY to lose to UGAg and MSU, since they have the tie breaker over us.
We need UF to lose at least one more game, hopefully before they play us, but I don't see Vandy beating them at home. So, that leaves us with hoping UGAg beats them as mentioned above.
I am just covering scenarios where we do not win out the rest of our SEC games, which we certainly can do. However, we have very tough games at home against Arky and in the swamp at UF. We SHOULD be able to handle Vandy on the road and at home against the Viles.
It is possible that a 4-4 team from the SEC East will make it to the SEC championship game, and KY hold the tie breaker on us. I am also assuming that the Viles and Commode Doors are not really in the running for the SEC East.
What think y'all?

What think y'all? I was driving around town with my wife and I was going over the scenarios. I said, "I guess the best thing for us is Georgia plays Florida in Jacksonville..." and before I could say anything she responds, "... and the stadium implodes." I love my wife.

Re: How UGA Will Win the East
Uh, have any of you see us (UGA) struggle this year? Two wins over Vanderbilt and Tennessee, both terrible teams this year, don't mean a lot. I love my team, but I've seen nothing at all that makes me think we'll beat Kentucky, Auburn, and Florida. Might win one of those, and if the stars align perfectly, we might somehow barely win two of those. But I doubt it. No way we ever win all three. Chances are that we win one of those, and the possibility that we lose all three cannot be entirely ruled out.
Right now we Dawgs just need to think about somehow becoming bowl eligible, a task that won't be easy. Now that our season is more or less lost, I'm only hoping that the things we do from here on out will benefit us next year. SECCG or New Years Bowl game talk ended weeks ago for Dawg fans.

Re: How UGA Will Win the East
I have to agree with the above poster. It does put most USC fans having to pull for a Dawg win over KY. Most of my Cock friends are finding that scenario quite repugnant but thus is the nature of SEC football and split conferences. Just win the rest of your games and you will be quite thrilled with a New Years Day bowl. Maybe even play in the SEC Championship! Hope it happens for you.
How 'bout them Hairy Dawgs!!

The SEC East will be determined in November when we play UF. That's all there is to it.

Re: How UGA Will Win the East
The only way UK becomes a threat to SC's east championship hopes is if we win out, which is pretty improbable. I think we can beat UGa and Vandy and hopefully UT, but I'm worried about MSU in Starkville. I agree that it'll probably come down to SC-UF.
Don't panic

You should go back and teach Bobert and Tallywhacker some manners.

Re: How UGA Will Win the East
Hey BirdCock: I have not posted on this forum in a long time. I try to be respectful, though I don't always get respect from some posters but that is the nature of the beast(fowl or dog). Bobert and tallywhacker are similar to some of this forums posters, rabid about their team. Those 2 are fellow dawgs so I shan't attempt to correct them no more then you would attempt to "correct" some(not all) of the more rabid and vocal fans here. Its suppose to be fun though sometimes the posts falls into the juvenile delinquent status or worse.
Have a great year, beat KLEMSUX!

I don't really care who wins what so long as we take care of our buisness then we will deserve to be in Atlanta.
