Let's see how many threads yall can start on Spiller in a 24 hour period.  Lot of attention for a nobody running back.

What's it to ya? Not enough love on your board? You guys have your own crappy board to "praise" Sir CJ but you choose to spend most of your time bashing the "coots" as you like to call us. And your radio station spends more time bashing SC than admonishing your own teams accomplishments. So excuse us that the mere thought of your beloved running back doesn't bring the heisman back to Oconee and our defense played a part in that.

RE: Clemson fan here: Serious question for y'all on Spiller

Since we've answered your questions, how bout answer some of ours. Why is he fine when running back kicks for TD's and doing the Heisman pose and breaking off long runs, yet when he's hit hard for a short gain he starts limping around? The guy is arguably one of the best returners in the history of college football and one of the fastest to ever play the game. No one with half a brain would argue that point. But he's a prima donna in every sense of the word.

Re: Clemson fan here: Serious question for y'all on Spiller

I will acknowledged that CJ was probably banged up pretty badly going into the USC & GT games because I think Dabo gave him the ball too many times this past season. However, great players  playing hurt will find a way to rise to the occassion (like TO did with eagles in the Super Bowl) and Spiller didn't against USC, who obviously had something GT doesn't have-a defense.

Re: C.J. on outside looking in.

There's reasons why Spiller isn't a Heisman Winner, or Finalist for that matter, and the Taters are the only one's too stupid to figure it out.

Time to let it go.

"If we're going to ever achieve anything, we've got to change our ways, and it probably needs to change with the head coach being a lot tougher and a lot meaner to some of these guys that are too soft around here," Spurrier said.

I don't think Tebow should be in that select list; this award should be based on a player's performance for the season, not a career.  Tebow's stats this year weren't very Heismanesque.

Clemson's schedule/competition was a joke at best. Spiller would start at most any school in the country however his success is partly credited to playing in the weak acc. Put him in the sec and he is just another running back...

Put him on Alabama, Florida, Texas etc with their o-line and his numbers give him this award going away.

That's a pretty ignorant comment. Put any back with a top-notch O-line and watch his numbers grow.

What you meant to say was out him  on a team like Bama, UF , Tx  ,etc  and he would gain respect for his numbers. His biggest mistake was choosing an ezz team and more specifically clemsux.

Re: C.J. on outside looking in.

Silly tater..

we arent "bashing" CJ...by and large we acknowledge that he was a hell of a return man, probably the best return man in the country. We also give him credit for returning his senior year and getting a degree....

so we respect him...within reason...

what we are laughing at are the tiger fans themselves.

Yall have made such a spectacle over him, annointed him as sitting at the right hand of Saint Tebow himself.

You have paid hundreds of thousands in dollars to purchase wasted, irrelevant ads.

You have crowned him the most dominant player in football, when he isnt even in the top 30 in rushing. (He actually ranks 39th.... http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/natlR...v=IA&dest=O )

You claim him the best all purpose player in the country...when there are 3 players listed ahead of him in that category as well. Further more, none of those players got invited to New York either.

Spiller is without a doubt the most valuable player to Clemson, and perhaps even in the ACC. But not in America. And anyone who deludes himself into believing otherwise opens himself up for deserved abuse...

Re: Spiller ( Merged Topics)

I've got nothing bad to say about Spiller. I think he's a great college football player. Lord only knows what he he could've done at UF in the past 4 yrs. He's done things that only the greats can do like running to the short side of the field and being completly hemmed in only to end going down the sidelines for a TD. It's a shame Bowden and co. didn't use him the way they should have. I wish him well.
