EVERY recruit needs to hear about how
NotCarolina was too chickensh!t to play us as scheduled. we need to get this fact turned into posters and t-shirts.

Re: EVERY recruit needs to hear about how
You are completely delusional if you think that UNC opted out a game with SC to play LSU because they are afraid of you. LSU is much better than SC and they will be better in 2010 as well. If UNC were afraid to play a good team, they certainly would not line up to play LSU. UNC has a chance to play in a very big game in the Ga dome on the first weekend of CFB. They would be crazy to pass on such an opportunity.

Re: EVERY recruit needs to hear about how
I'm not delusional about anything. we had a contract for a home and home series. we played them at their home and beat them. then, they backed out of their end of the deal. If being afraid to play Carolina were a crime, the above would be enough probable cause for a warrant. period. they're going to lose either game. but losing to Carolina is much more humiliating and affects their recruiting much more than losing to LSU.

If they're going to lose to an SEC team, they're going to do everything they can to lose to an SEC team that will give them a higher strength of schedule and improves the quality of their moral victory. Afterall, if we discount the first half of our last game against them then they won. I actually saw several posts after that game that essentially counted that game as a loss for them using that same logic.

Re: EVERY recruit needs to hear about how
How ironic a Tater talk about delusional. Fact is, Not Carolina backed out of the game. Much like we all said when the home and home series was signed in the first place. The Holes would lose either game. Losing to LSU appears to be a much lighter loss. It won't affect their recruiting much at all. Losing to USC will kill their recruiting.
Bottom line, Not Carolina was supposed to come to the Brice next year. Now they're not. They know what kind of impact this change will make. I'm just glad we were smart enough to raise the buy-out.

If we are such a pushover, do you think they would give up a win over us for a loss to LSU. Hell no. Fact is, they know coming into Columbia and getting a win next year was going to be very tough. They'd much rather lose to LSU. They want no part of playing at Williams Brice.

Re: EVERY recruit needs to hear about how
If UNC is so scared to play in Columbia then why was this game already rescheduled????? You guys can claim UNC has "backed out" of the game and is "too scared" to play at W-B Stadium, but the FACTS show that this game will still happen, just not as soon as everyone (even UNC fans) wanted. Good luck to the Gamecocks this weekend against FAU, I hope you guys win out this year and finish strong.

It's a FACT that Carolina went to UrNotCarolina and beat them in their own house. It happended, it can't be denied. It's a FACT that UrNotCarolina is not honoring their commitment to come to WB to play next year. It's a possibility that UrNotCarolina will come to WB in 2013, to finally take their medicine. They may or they may back out AGAIN. A possibility is not a FACT.
"If we're going to ever achieve anything, we've got to change our ways, and it probably needs to change with the head coach being a lot tougher and a lot meaner to some of these guys that are too soft around here," Spurrier said.

Yes, the game has been rescheduled and won't be played next year, but it is also a FACT that ESPN approached USC's AD to reschedule the game and he did, yet you guys want to put all of it on UNC. You can assume all you want that "they may back out AGAIN" but your assumption is not a FACT. I stated that the game was rescheduled and that is FACT. Don't let your hatred of UNC blind you from the FACTS....the game is scheduled for a Thursday night in 2013 and will hopefully live up to the billing, especially after all this mess.

RE: EVERY recruit needs to hear about how
Take a look at your track record regarding backing out of games. I'm talking Baseball, Football, BASKETBALL. Notice how things have died off considerably? Got news for ya, dude...that wasn't our doing.
With regards to LSU being a better team...they probably are and MAY* be next year (Though I think we will be sitting pretty). But that is really not the issue in my mind. What UNotC essentially did was reschedule against a team that would have made for a potentially good game for one that they will get clobbered in.
"But FightWin, if we play LSU we'll get more publicity!" -That may be, delusional hole fan, but what you are failing to take into consideration is that there is good and bad publicity. When (and it's only a matter of time, I promise) LSU whoops you, how do you think it's going to look on the recruiting trail?
I'm tired now.

Why are people complaining about this? We should have never scheduled those jerks in the first place, and I'm angry that they re-scheduled. I want NO part of playing any A She She team EVER.

I'm tired now. So in the same paragraph you state that LSU "MAY* be better" than USC next year and then say that a UNC-USC matchup would have "made for a potentially good game" but against LSU "they will get clobbered." That doesn't make a lot of sense, you are claiming LSU and USC to being very close next year, but that against UNC, the teams would be much different. We won't know the outcome of the game until it's played, but until then, I'm sure all of you guys will be predicting LSU to "clobber" UNC. But, then again, games are decided on the field, not on paper...and sure as heck not on a message board... I know most of you hate UNC, but I am a fan of the Gamecocks as well, and wish nothing but the best in the rest of your season.....

We MAY be as good LSU next year, suggesting that we will either be competing at their level or around the same level we have been. In other words, the USC-UNC game would at least have the potential to be close, or we would absolutely blow you out of the water- as per LSU. "We won't know the outcome of the game until it's played..." YOU won't know the outcome until it's 54-7 LSU. I understand you don't think the difference between the SEC and the ACC is that different, but let me tell you the difference between an SEC Championship team and an ACC team is much different. You'll find the recruiting to be much better at the former. I've met a couple decent Tarheels up here, but the majority are smug and seem to think that throwing a Basketball NC in my face relates in anyway to your football team. You'll find the two to be mutually exclusive, I promise.

You'll find the two to be mutually exclusive, I promise. Your opinon of the outcome of a game that won't happen until next season will have no influence over the actual outcome of that game. I don't expect you to predict a UNC win because you all seem to think it would take a miracle for UNC to beat the SEC, er LSU (since they don't play the SEC, just the one team). I think that LSU will come into next season as a higher regarded team, but that doesn't mean the game should not be played and just give the win to them. There are too many factors to consider between now and Sept. 4, 2010 to just claim this to be a demolishing of the Tar Heels. I won't refute that the SEC is stronger, that would be ridiculous, but I don't think that UNC can't compete. And how did that title of "reigning SEC Champion" do for them last season while they were going 3-5 in conference? Each year is different, and so will 2010. I've never mentioned another sport on this thread, it's football season so I like to talk football. You need not to tell me that the two sports are mutually exclusive, I'll worry about the other sport come November. I am a UNC fan, not a UNC (enter sport here) fan. I'm a fan of the school and all that has to do with it.....I hope that you are of SC. I mean no ill-will towards anyone, but you guys are so quick to trash UNC's football team, while your own team has not been beaming in the light of success lately either (although better than UNC, I know). Both programs should be on the rise, and hopefully both will be factors within their own conferences this season. I love W-B Stadium and the atmosphere it provides, great college town and environment. You won't hear me speak negative of SC.....

Re: EVERY recruit needs to hear about how
The likelihood of the Holes coming to Columbia in 2013 is no higher than it was them coming in 2010. They need to shut the hell up. Some of them have even tried to spin it like ESPN almost forced them to play this game. If ESPN wants them so bad for such a high profile game, why do all their other games start at ACC o'clock(noon) and are featured on ESPN 360?

As I have stated before, that's your opinion and I don't see UNC cancelling the game in 2013, just wouldn't be worth it. I can't wait for the game, but just as you do, I wish it was sooner. Maybe you should check what channel is covering the SC game this Saturday...UNC's 1st one was on espn360, last week and this week are on the espn network, you'll find the SC game on espn360...so "all their other games" are not featured on espn360....

Re: EVERY recruit needs to hear about how
The FACT is that the LSU vs. UNC game presented NO scheduling conflict with next year's originally scheduled trip by UNC to USC. Therefore, it is clear to everyone who is not a rationalizing tarhole, that UNC is afraid to play 2 SEC teams in the same year (we have to play 8 other SEC teams each year), with the distinct possibility of losing both games. Furthermore, it is in the best interests of UNC to backout of the USC game, as was predicted by many a Gamecock fan years ago, since losing to 2 SEC schools, especially if one of the losses was to USC, would be devastating to your fan base and recruiting.
I did note, however, that you are keeping your cupcakes (not counting some of the pathetic other ACC schools that you have to play) on your schedule. I believe that scheduling conflict for the LSU game was originally with one of your scheduled cupcakes.

Agree we should not even play schools from the ACC. My guess is unc is also looking at the money. The Chick-Fil-A game will pay them around $2 million they don't have to share with the conference.
GO COCKS!!! -Life is a journey, pack a cooler! -Greetings beerlings, take me to your lager! -Life is too short to drink crappy beer!

Not making excuses, just explaining how it ended up messing up the USC game. I know you guys will continue to claim that UNC is scared, but you are entitled to your own opinion...as are we, as UNC fans....
