I would like UVa to make that move. I think before any ACC team jumps ship they will wait for the outcome of the Maryland/ACC lawsuit over the 50 million buyout... Not sure UVa could afford that lump sum.....

should that happen, then Va Tech will be on the first plane outta tobacco road....

UVa has money...

And the BIG is going to help with the pain. I think that UVA and GT bring pretty good markets, and helps shore up the eastern wing with MD, Slutgers and Ped State.

You don't know UVA. They have plenty of cash and can raise plenty more.

Stronger in the fact that they will soon be the new Big East....

The B1G has some hard and fast rule about new schools being in states that are contiguous to states with existing members, so I don't know where the Georgia Tech talk comes from. Culturally they'd be a better fit in a post-ACC world in the B1G than they would the Big 12, but I wonder if the ptb in the B1G would wave that rule for the bugs.

"Hard and fast" rules can be bent when the Atlanta TV market is in play.

That being said, the B1G does have some rules that make it challenging to expand.
