Re: Wishful thinking...?

I hope he does but I just don't see it.  Barring injury or some unforeseen circumstance he will most likely be projected as the top pick in the 2014 draft.  If so, he would have nothing to gain and everything to lose by coming back for his senior year.  It would be GREAT for US if he did, but I'm not going to believe it until I see it.  Until then, I'm just going to consider it wishful thinking.

I hope he doesn't. Something would have to happen to him to keep him here and I want him to have an awesome season and go to the NFL as the #1 pick.

I can't see it either, and think he should take the money next year.

As a Gamecock, I'd love to see it happen.  It would be so very...huge!  As a realist, I'd have to say I highly doubt that he'll stay for 4 years.

If you were walking along and saw a hundred dollar bill on the ground, would you pick it up? How about if you saw millions?

If I were him, I would grab it as fast as he grabbed that football in the Outback Bowl.

Re: Wishful thinking...?

biggrin Great tweet by Jadeveon Clowney!!! Jadeveon is a great role model for the younger players that look up to him from around the country. Jadeveon Clowney staying with the Gamecocks two more years would be GREAT, but Jadeveon Clowney will be the #1 overall player taken in the 2014 NFL Draft. Jadeveon Clowney would be the #1 player taken in this year 2013 NFL Draft if he wasn't only a sophomore. After Jadeveon Clowney leads the Gamecocks to the SEC Championship and National Championship next season, I hope he will enter the NFL Draft early as a junior as the #1 overall pick and have a Hall of Fame NFL career and make a lot of money.
"Winning is not a sometime thing: it's an all the time thing. You don't win once in a while; you don't do the right thing once in a while; you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing." - Vince Lombardi (NFL Hall of Fame Coach)

For his sake I hope he goes as the #1 next year.

No fans desires should ever trump what is best for a young man and his family.

Re: Wishful thinking...?

It's pretty well agreed upon that he would be the # 1 pick right now (today) if he were eligible. Any talk of exposing himself to injury by staying for a year longer than he needs to is pure foolishness. In April of 2014 he will go from being a college student to being a wealthy young man, set for life. Would anybody you know give up a winning lottery ticket in order to attend college for another year ?
