I don't see how we are behind UGA, we gave them their worst beating of the year. I am not sure why Noter Dame is even in the top 10, they suck?

Bet Dabo loves being ranked behind us. And how about a shout out for Vandy finally ending the season in the top 25.

RE: Final rankings
Great news! The Gamecocks should be a preseason top 5 college football team next season.

We lost two straight, one as badly as Georgia lost to us, while they won out. If not for some poor game management in the SECC game, Georgia may have been playing last night.

Re: Final rankings
7 teams from one conference all in the top 25, that is strong. I believe it martches that conferences streak of consecutive national titles.
So much accomplished, so much farther to go!!!

RE: Final rankings
Seven teams in the top 20 in coaches poll! Wow!
ND in the top 10 is a joke! Same for Ohio State! When a big 10 teams plays a good team from elsewhere, they lose most of the time. I blame the hype from the media for the debacle last night. Wofford would have done as well as ND did!

Re: Final rankings
We've got our work cut out for us next year in relation to the BCS Poll, where we come in at #10. Given Nostrus Damus' struggles during the regular season against Pitt, Stanford (a Stanford game lost by a overruled TD call) and to an extent Boston College, the BCS Committee was really kind to them to keep them at #1... have the most recent BCS polls been released?
That cannot be right, or is it the result of figuring in another index (like an RPI) to get the final BCS poll?
Go Gamecocks!!!

The fact that Nebraska ended up about # 23 and #25 means that Georgia has now beaten a final Top 25 team for the second time in three years (more like 3 1/2 I think) ...they are probably more over rated than Notre Dame....Notre Dame is on about the same level competitively as Vandy....a pretty good team but out of their class against the top of the SEC... And Nick Saban is without a doubt one of the two or three best college coaches EVER...a true genius....

Re: Final rankings
Just think, if Mark Richt had spiked the ball there is a very good chance Georgia would be national champions. They would have still had to score a TD, but they would have had a legitimate shot. And based on what we saw last night, I think its safe to assume, had that happened, Georgia would have won the championship.
I'm very proud of our final ranking. Considering our schedule, the fact that we never got Marcus back at full strength before losing him for good and that Conner Shaw was less than 100% for pretty much the entire season, I think we had a very successful year. I think we got a tough break by having our bye week fall so late in the season. I really believe if it had come somewhere between either the Georgia and LSU or the LSU and Florida games it would have made a huge difference. Still no SEC championship but there's always next year. Right now I'll take a top 7, top 8 final ranking, back to back 11 win seasons and consider this a great season for us.
I know most of you hated seeing Florida and LSU lose but that's what helped us move up to where we did, which is why I was pulling against them.

Re: Final rankings
I was pulling for Vandy and was glad to see them have such a good year and finish the season ranked. But I think its going to be tough for them to maintain this kind of success long term. They benefited from Tennessee being way down and having a weak Missouri team in the division. They also happened to catch Auburn on a down year. At some point you have to think Tennessee will be back to being a winning program. And with us, Georgia and Florida all looking strong for the immediate future, its not going to be easy on Vandy to repeat what they did this year. And keeping Franklin is going to be a challenge when schools with more attractive opportunities come calling. But I was happy for what they accomplished this year and wish them luck in the future, as long as they remain below us in the East.

Why were the BCS Standings not updated? It still shows Notre Dame being #1.

I am reminded of Spurrier's answering questions from the media after our relatively narrow victory over Vanderbilt. He responded with what, I'm sure, seemed trite to some by saying something like, "This is not the same Vanderbilt team like the past". It's quite remarkable that both Florida and LSU end up ranked below USC, with only Urban Meyer's Ohio State spoiling a #7 finish in both polls. For those stating that UGA could very well have won the MNC, imagine what could have happened if our guys had held onto the ball in our game vs. Florida. Steve Spurrier has done us proud.
