Crappy Bowl Games

Crappy Bowl Games

Honestly, I am getting turned off by some of these so called bowl games. I just watched an old movie, Seven Days in May, which was better than both of the bowl games that were on simultaneously.

"[Georgia’s] offensive line gave away when they were going to hike the ball, so I got a good jump on it.”

— South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney

I find myself in that situation as well. Part of it is that I don't keep up with teams outside of the southeast. Maybe the Outback and ChickFila bowls will go the way we want them to go. dancincocky.gif

It's awful. I probably watch 3-4 bowl games a year now. I haven't even watched the MNC in a few years and probably won't this year. If wehad a playoff I'm not convinced that Stanford wouldn't win the whole thing. They were robbed against Notre Shame and Notre Shame doesn't even play a league championship game. College football is embarrasingly uneven now and will be surely ruined unless a major playoff is instituted soon.

That said I can't wait to see my Gamecocks beat-up on them Wolverines!

Pretty much agree except I think the best team in the country ...AT THIS MOMENT...is probably Texas A&M....Florida was very lucky to get them early in the season...

I agree with this. I think if the Texas A&M-La Tech game that was supposed to be week 1 hadn't been postponed, then Texas A&M is playing in the Title game against ND, not Bama.

Funny how we are all of the same opinion...I haven't watched a single bowl game all the way through yet. Today I enjoyed watching the 24 marathon more than the games I surfed through during. Too many insignificant bowl matchups. Too many bowls period. Shame some of the best bowls will be playing simultaneously. The Outback, Capital One and Gator are all 1pm games but they stagger the ones that played today.

I watched part of a crappy bowl game played outside in the snow in the Bronx, NY. Why would you even accept a bid to something like this?

All of the TV money now drives the bowl games.... Don't know how many of you read the linked article on Art Gregory, but it was pretty funny that they team declined an invitation to the Gator Bowl because the season was over and " we had gone back to drinking beer and having some dates"....

RE: Crappy Bowl Games

Most of these bowl games suck but I was greatly looking forward to the Texas/OSU and TCU/MSU game yesterday. Both didn't dissapoint.

My upcoming bowl games to look forward to:

Outback
Capital One
Music City(so I can laugh at the fact that we couldn't beat a team that will soon get crushed by Vandy)
Chik-Fil-A (so I can see a repeat of last year's Orange Bowl)
Fiesta
Cotton
Orange
BCSNCG

Predictions for 2013:
FSU Seminoles: 10-3
Carolina Panthers: 9-7
Florida Panthers: 28-20  Southeast Division Champs
