Signing Day Post Rating (1 vote)

I am very worried that we might not get our much needed recruits on signing day. Is anyone else concerned?

Re: Signing Day

It seems that this hasn't been a particularly good recruiting year for us but I think we are still top 25 or so. I am a little concerned that our recruiting seems to be dropping off some, but I am not an expert in this area. Hopefully some others that follow recruiting and rankings can weigh in.

Thanks for everything you've accomplished here Marcus....Good luck in the NFL!!

Re: Signing Day

Not to worry guys.  If you will look at our commits there is a pretty large number of offensive linemen. They generally aren't blessed with a constellation of stars.  The classes we have had with lots of linemen haven't won us any recruiting wars, but they are paying dividends on the field.  Recievers, runningbacks, QB's and skilled defensive players carry the most stars, but its the linemen that will get us to the championship.

We still have some skilled position players on the team and on our charts that will come through.

Linebackers is the only area I feel we needed more.  It is unfortunate that we couldn't have landed a couple of JC guys that could have contributed right away.

It's not too late, is it?

Let's just hope all his academics are in order. If he does finally come here it has been a long strange trip with that kid

If a team wants to have a highly ranked class, they just need a few "skill" position folks a la Clemson! If you want a great class and team, just fill your needs! We do the latter! Look at most highly rated teams classes and you will find a Sammy Watkins but nobody to block for him! Same applys to the defense! We are fine!

6 good DL committed, 4 OL committed, 3 linebackers committed and still a month on the recruiting trail with some big names still on the board.  We will be fine.  cool

Gamecocks are in great position to pick up a commitment from OL Na'Ty Rodgers who I believe is announcing his decision at the Under Armour game.

I also think that the Gamecocks will also end up picking up a commitment from RB David Williams. Everyone just be patient. Things will fall into place.

I agree!  If the couple that are suppose to sign w/ us do and we get Gholson and the LB from Washington, DC this will actually end up being one of our better classes....

Good point, Bionic. Our coaching staff does a good job bringing in players that fill our need. Then they coach 'em up better than Clemson seems to do. Last but not least, our Strength and Conditioning program seems to be much better.

I say OL, DL and LB because it usually takes a few years do develop them and you can't have enough of them

We also look to be in good position with a LB from DC
