RE: A look back at the Clemson game
Point number 1 reminds of a time when Charlie MacClendon was coaching LSU and they were losing something like 24-10 to Ole Miss National Championship team coached by Johnny Vaught. Faced with a 4th an short and ust barely on Ole Miss's side of the field, time running out, Charlie Mac too punted. When asked why he punted Charlie Mac said , "because I didn't want to get behind 31 -10."
"[Georgia’s] offensive line gave away when they were going to hike the ball, so I got a good jump on it.” — South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney

RE: A look back at the Clemson game
I recently went back and watched the Clemson game again. It never gets old.
Many things stand out. Big plays like Swearinger's hit and Thompson's 20 yard run on 3rd and 19. As the announcers noted, the Clemson coaches not must have watched much film or they would have accounted for Clowney.
Dabo's decision to punt when they were two scores down late in the game was gutless. He just didn't want to lose by 34-17 again. He had a hopeless look of resignation on his face. He realized it was over and he was again soundly beaten. Beaten for the fourth consecutive year.
I hope at that moment he remembered his rant. I suspect he did. I also suspect Spurrier did.

Re: A look back at the Clemson game
The punt was his surrender. Do his players like the white flag raised by Dabo to keep the score lower? I wouldn't if he was my coach. Then he went out and said he was closing the gap and that this loss was closer than the last few. He did not do this for his team. He did it for himself. Surely his team sees right through him. That is powerful orange koolade.

Re: A look back at the Clemson game
After looking at the game a couple more times, I did not think we played that well but still took care of bizness. Seems like the boys are really taking the Outback seriously.
