Who is Tanner McEvoy?
Tanner is visiting Morgantown this weekend and I was wondering what you kind folks know about this kid from his time in South Carolina. All I really know is that he threw two TD's in your spring game and had an incident with alcohol in July and shortly transfered to Arizona Western.
Anything like work ethic, intelligence, improvement or any special details would be much appreciated.

RE: Who is Tanner McEvoy?
Very large and talented young QB who was hopelessly buried on the depth chart at Carolina...he will do well when he finds the right place...
PS...When examined more closely the alcohol thing was blown way out of proportion...it was basically for drinking one beer before he turned twenty one...it was also not the reason he left Carolina...he wanted to play and there were too many guys ahead of him...

Talented enough to be a star. Was the NJ Player of the Year his Senior year in HS.
Thought he had an excellent chance to start here next season. If you can convince him to come to your school, do it.

Re: Who is Tanner McEvoy?
Steve said that Tanner's underage drinking charge would be handled by Coach Tanner. We all know Ray plays straight. This kid was arrested for underage drinking, but he was not legally drunk. I am thinking mcEvoy felt the need to go somewhere else to develop into a starter sooner. His film looked very good but he did have a few guys ahead of him. I expect to see him playing somewhere. He is a big, tall player and I hope he does well.

I think Tanner will make someone a darn good Div 1 QB. I think he felt he was buried on the depth chart esp with Conner Mitch coming in next year.
Thanks for everything you've accomplished here Marcus....Good luck in the NFL!!

I agree, especially with starter Connor Shaw returning next season along with backup QB Dylan Thompson and freshman Parade All-American QB Brendan Nosovitch, who is redshirting this season.
