Not going to be retained. I wonder where he will end up.

RE: Skip Holtz out at USF
There is still a lot of coaching positions that haven't been filled yet. Skip Holtz might find a job somewhere like Southern Miss. If Skip would have stayed at ECU, he would probably have been hired for the NC State coaching position that have just been filled. Lou Holtz coached at NC State.
"Winning is not a sometime thing: it's an all the time thing. You don't win once in a while; you don't do the right thing once in a while; you do them right all the time. Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing." - Vince Lombardi (NFL Hall of Fame Coach)

^I personally think NC State is going to be better off. No offense to the Holtz family, Skip is not a good coach.

RE: Skip Holtz out at USF
Skip I think is the type of coach that can do well in a non-BCS conference, but can't compete at the next step for some reason.

Re: Skip Holtz out at USF
I think Skip's best suit is as an offensive cordinator. His team was scoring big numbers at UConn. (I think that's where it was)

I think Skip will be fine and will get another chance to prove himself. This is his game. It just did not work out for him at USF.

I wish him the best but can't imagine where our program would be had we happened to hire him after Lou left.

Bad, Skip had bad timing taking the USF job! With UF finding it's feet, it hurt his program.Miami buys all the kids they want, but USF won't go that route. It's tough to keep the Florida high school kids in the Tampa area!

He was head coach at uconn when uconn was div 1AA, and they played for that div's championship, I think. Then he left there when Lou accepted the HC job here, and joined his dad.
