Without question....I hope GT beats uga (6 votes)
Most of the time, I'm always for the SEC against anyone else, but the arrogance of uga fans is getting to intolerable levels again and, unfortunately, we are not able to play them again this year to put them back in their place.
A GT win would crush the dawgs and hopefully slow down their recruiting because the fans would go nuts and probably call for another round of Richt firing before the beatdown that bama is going to give them.
uga has skated by this season and the fact they are ranked number 3 is a joke. No great team gets beat 35-7 by anyone.....and you can throw us in there after the choke against uf.
I'm 100% behind UF against the noles (another joke of a team).

Re: Without question....I hope GT beats uga (3 votes)
No SEC team sinks to the level of any ACC team. Although we have been out of the ACC for 41 years and GT was not in the ACC at that time, never, ever pull for an ACC team.
GT losing, Clempson losing and FSU losing all hurts the ACC, yet again, in the eyes of the national media and fans around the nation, highlighting the weakness of the conference. It helps Carolina in the ratings and gives us a chance at a better bowl.
Such losses continue to hurt the ACC recruiting and offers proof that FSU and Clempsons whines about not getting respect for their records are unfounded. It keeps that conference down and it helps us in recruiting, especially in the state of NC. It continues to waken that conference and makes teams other than Maryland (FSU, Clempson, etc.) more eager to jump ship, causing the ACC to siphon off more Big East teams as replacements, in turn weakening them further. Eventually, the B1G, Big XII, and the SEC take the last vestiges of teams worth having in NC and VA and the conference is gone. Clempson is forced, likely to go to the Big XII and that will weaken them more around here in recruiting with in state players that USC might want. They would no longer have any true regional rivals as far as conference goes. Lastly, all those things contribute one more step to the ACC closing its doors, for good, or perhaps losing an automatic birth to a BCS Bowl.
That would be the final revenge for us over our ancient foes, the ACC.

Rivals are rivals and for the most part have mutual respect for each other; then there is the ACC! They have to be destroyed. I hope you guys put half a hundred on um!! We all know that Steve has no problem busting 50 and making a statement!!

No offense dog fan, 9 out of 10 you pull for the SEC, but if UGA, UF, LSU, and A&M lose it helps our chances of going to a BCS bowl... lol

Re: Without question....I hope GT beats uga
I wish I could win the SC lotto too... Hitherto GT has had absolutely no defense whatsoever. While I do expect them to have some offensive success against the dawgs, I won't be surprised if UGA puts up 50 on 'em! I'm not sure about the UF vs. FSU game. Both teams are overrated and neither has impressed as of late. If FSU can score at least 17 points I seriously doubt that UF will win. Their offense is simply terrible.

A win by GT would only diminish the SEC and your win over the Dawgs. Your hate has taken control of your ability to think rationally.

Re: Without question....I hope GT beats uga (3 votes)
As a South Carolina fan, I pull against the SEC. The way I see it, its those are the teams, especially in the east, that we are in direct competition with for recruiting and a conference championship, which should be the goal of every team in college football. Except for us, I pull against all SEC teams when they play out of conference. In conference, I generally pull for the west to beat the east. Division games, I pull for the teams below us to beat the teams above us. I don't want the other SEC teams getting to the point where we're trying to catch up to them like back in the 1990's and most of the 2000's when we'd get better and they'd get better. We could gain no ground on them and remained stuck in the lower half of our division. People aren't going to want to hear this, but there are two reasons why we are where we are now in the SEC. One is we've gotten a lot better, but two is that the conference has been a little down over the last couple of years which has allowed teams to come back to us. I think people worry too much about perception and rankings and think playing in a conference that is perceived to be stronger helps you. But it only does that if you win and its harder to win if the conference is tough. I just want to win games. If we win all our games its not going to matter what the rest of the SEC does. People run Clemson down but I think they are in an ideal situation. I really wish we'd never left the ACC. Then we wouldn't have had to endure nearly 30 years of mediocrity. And we're still not where we want to be...Conference Champions.

I dislike ga, but I'm not sure I can pull for GT. I will say No way they lose to GT. Besides we need to worry about our game with climpsun, and next week we can be Bama fans.

Pulling or you guys over the Tiggers. I football hate the Tiggers more than you guys.
Pulling for the Gates over FSU.
Hopefully will be watching a Bulldog blowout over Tech.
I wish a speedy recovery to Lattimore (very special back) and wish him well if he comes back to USC or goes pro. He is too good to have his career slowed.
Have a safe and happy holiday.
SEC always.

Re: Without question....I hope GT beats uga (1 vote)
Pulling against your own conference is self destructive. For it to do poorly, it proves itself weak and recruits pick up on that and want no part of anyone in it.
Why do you think the ACC gets almost no respect for their best teams? Their wins, for the most part, are against weak teams in their own conference.
Wish we were still in the ACC? Do you not remember the crap we had to put up with, how unfairly we were treated, the venom of all the other teams toward us and our student-athletes, and no one would stand up to fight the crooked UNC/Duke favoritism that has always run the conference? Only now are some teams finally understanding that football has always been the cash cow, not basketball, and only recently have we seen some teams getting fed up with their Commish (a UNC alum) and his ineptitude and some are looking for the first opportunity to jump. FSU hates the ACC, NC State is getting restless, and Clempson only claims to support it because they know we would razz them worse than ever for jumping ship. They told us they would leave the ACC on the same day we did, but stabbed us in the back and stay put without so much as the decency to inform us ahead of time. We had no support in the ACC. It was seven against one.
Screw the ACC, old and current. The SEC threw us a lifeline when we needed one, has treated us equally, with far more respect than the ACC did on her best day, and has paid us royally in our time in it. If we were still in the ACC, we would still be piddling around as a mediocre or worse sports program, our coffers would much less full. our facilities would not be nearly as nice, our coaches would be several levels lower, and we would be scared we would be left behind when the conference folded. The SEC saved us and the ACC did all it could to destroy us.
The second best day we ever had was leaving that cesspool and it is only second best because the best was joining the SEC. The new second best day will be when the ACC no longer exists.

Re: Without question....I hope GT beats uga (1 vote)
Every single syllable Brat writes is the absolute truth, and let no one doubt it. The ACC was and is a smarmy elite wannabe of a conference who always cheated selectively, and snobbishly looked down on the SEC as academic inferiors. I take great delight in the outcome of the Duke Rape case, and I am now thrilled with the ongoing humiliation that UnotCarolina is having to endure. The cheap and petty treatment of South Carolina while we were in the ACC was unconscionable and the way Clemson stabbed us in the back should never be forgotten or forgiven. Just another reason for Carolina and its fans to pull for our brothers against any ACC team and for us to relish in the destruction of that conference, and for the coming irrelevance of ClemSIN. Go Dawgs and Go Gators this weekend, and Go Gamecocks! I am praying for a total beat down.
Venerable Gamecock

Re: Without question....I hope GT beats uga
I do not see jawja losing to GT...GT has no defense and hasn't exactly been a team that has been discussed much in the college football ranks. I do not think the gaytors are a top 5 team but it is what it is...in saying that though, I hope they expose FSU for the overrated team they are. Don't care for the semen-oles and tired of their whining coach!

Re: Without question....I hope GT beats uga (2 votes)
If you're good it doesn't matter what conference you are in. Winning takes care of everything. It doesn't do you any good to play in a conference of strong teams if you always lose to them. Losing to good teams doesn't make you good. And except for a handful of years during the Joe Morrison era, we've been a losing or a mediocre program since leaving the ACC up until the last two or three years when the SEC has been a little down. I don't expect it to stay down much longer so where will that leave us, especially if Spurrier only sticks around for a couple more years? We could easily go right back to being a doormat for Florida, Tennessee and Georgia.
In the end winning is all that matters. Who you beat doesn't matter. No offense to Georgia fans, but they're playing in their second straight championship game. Was it because they were the best team in the east? No, because we were. But they had the easier schedule so while we're sitting home watching on TV, they'll be in Atlanta playing for a championship and nobody is going to care that they had an easier road to get there.
But I pull against SEC teams because I don't believe in pulling for my opponents. If the SEC is down over the next several years and we win a championship, we'll be in the playoffs with no questions assked. It won't matter if the rest of the teams aren't as good as they've been in the past. But if teams like Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Texas AM, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida get back to what they were in the 1990's-2000's, we'll right back to being a mid level team that loses to UConn in a second tier bowl game. That's what I'm pulling against.
