Tahj Boyd says his future is up in the air
Sounds like a guy who either believes a change is coming with scheme/coaches, or just really believes his draft projections are as good as gold

Just thinking about QB's out loud here for 2013 - Geno Smith, Landry Jones, Matt Barkley, EJ Manuel, Tyler Wilson... I would imagine all of those guys would go above Boyd right now. This isn't saying Boyd is a good quarterback. He's been great in Clemson's offense. I just don't see him being a high enough draft pick to warrant leaving Clemson early.

Boyd is NOT a future NFL player. Get another year with the trash and then go sell real estate or something. He is nowhere near good enough for the pro's. Beating up on cupcakes for 2 years is not a sign you can make it.

Re: Tahj Boyd says his future is up in the air
I would take Boyd over EJ Manuel. Matt Barkley's stock is dropping. Geno Smith is a system QB. I'd say Boyd is a 4th rounder at best if he goes pro after this year. AdamGarrett wrote:

Boyd is a system QB if there ever was one. Not a lot of great QBs this year that could be drafted.

System player, no doubt.
Hard to evaluate, actually.

Re: Tahj Boyd says his future is up in the air
Boyd can throw the deep ball well..he is more pro style so I cant imagine he wouldnt get drafted if he wanted to come out early.
The obvious question is how much does his stock improve by waiting another year...
if he jumps two or 3 rounds then clearly he waits..
if he projects similar than why not leave early..
I am sure his coaches will be able to give him the best advice they can..

Re: Tahj Boyd says his future is up in the air
Boyd is certainly a very good QB running Chad Morris's offense but I'm skeptical on how good he'd be in the NFL. Someone mentioned Geno Smith as another good example and I agree.
Boyd will likely stay another year imo and Morris will either be gone after this season or next. I just can't see another big program holding off for much longer on such an offensive play calling talent.

He's always reminded me of David Garrard. They're almost the exact same size and skill set. So I don't know why one can make it and the other can't.

RE: Tahj Boyd says his future is up in the air
It would be a good year to come out as a QB, as the draft class is a little weak.

RE: Tahj Boyd says his future is up in the air
Actually you are incorrect. He was a five star Qb out of high school. He is also the most accurate passer in the country in throws over 15 yards. gcocky wrote: Boyd is a system QB if there ever was one. Not a lot of great QBs this year that could be drafted.

Re: Tahj Boyd says his future is up in the air
Tajh is a good ACC QB and a nice kid. That Glennon kid from NC State is the best QB easily. He will go in the draft even though he is playing in the ACC. The Greenville News is begging people to watch Tajh. This week we can watch both guys. Glennon has no Nuk Hopkins or Sammy Watkins.

He won't have time to throw it 15 yards next week because Clowney and Taylor will be in his grille. He'll have to stick with the half yard bubble screens to Watkins.

If we can shut Tajh down and dominate on defense perhaps it'll prove what a lot have said. His numbers are so gaudy b/c Clemson doesn't play any teams with much defense. I sure hope we can prevent their offense from getting in a groove b/c they sure can put up a lot of points.
