RE: Alabama just screwed us
It will be interesting to see if there is SIX SEC teams in the top 10 BCS poll Sunday (Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Gamecocks, Texas A&M). The other four top 10 teams will be Oregon, Kansas State, Notre Dame, and Florida St. SIX teams in the top 10 will be evidence that the SEC is the best college football conference in the country. Based on that alone it should be VERY hard to keep a SEC team out of the national championship game. Teams in the SEC beat up on one another. Louisville should be the only team removed from last weeks top 10.

RE: Alabama just screwed us
There will still likely be two SEC teams in the BCS bowls.
Sugar or Title (with help): SEC Champ (Bama, cause I can't put UGA there) Fiesta or Sugar: Likely BCS #2 (Florida if they win out. LSU 2nd choice. USC 3rd choice if they both lose. We'll say UF for now.) Cap One: LSU (if they win out. USC 2nd choice. UF 3rd choice cause it would mean they would have lost to FSU) Cotton: TAMU Outback: USC (First choice, UGA if we don't win out.) Chik-fil-a: UGA or Miss State Gator: UGA or Miss State
Of course, this is all assuming UF and LSU win out. If Florida loses to FSU, then we stand a good chance of the BCS if we win out. We are better served with the Sugar Bowl being the open spot, because the Sugar Bowl could pick us over LSU for the tourism aspect. If we win out, we will be playing on New Years Day.

RE: Alabama just screwed us
I would be shocked if A&M moved up that far. Last week our BCS ranking was .6206 and A&M's was .5060. I don't see any way that they will jump that high. That would be a pretty monumental jump. Next week the SEC could have 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and probably 10 or 11. I'm thinking Georgia, Bama, Florida, LSU, South Carolina, A&M.
That is assuming Oregon ends up beating Cal.

Our best bet is to pull for Arky and FSU. Arkansas can throw the ball, and FSU has potential in a rival game.

Re: Alabama just screwed us
Well, it happened. A&M is now 8th in the BCS and we dropped to 9th. We are just ahead of FSU and clempson. We should pick up a few points on the taters next week because we play Wofford and they only play another ACC team.

I didn't think it would happen, but then again we are talking about the BCS. It will be interesting to see if Carolina jumps back over A&M if they can beat Clemson in two weeks. Six teams in a row for the SEC in the top nine.

Only a 19 point underdog, NCSU is the best team clempson has faced in awhile. Could ACC football be any more pathetic?

Last night on Talkin' Football Clemmons was projected to the Sugar. So that means if they beat one winning team they go to a BCS bowl. Unbelievable.

Re: Alabama just screwed us (1 vote)
The winner of the SEC Championship game should play in the National Championship game regardless of what happens with Kansas State, Oregon, or Notre Dame. The SEC having 6 teams in the BCS top 10 is HISTORIC.

Ok. That would be mighty mighty Duke and Ball State. Impressive. I stand corrected.

Re: Alabama just screwed us
We don't have a lot to brag either. Our best win is Georgia. Their best win is Florida who handed them that game on a silver platter. Georgia has benefited from a favorable schedule but they are vastly overrated. Florida has the three best wins of any SEC team, a blowout of us and wins at A&M and LSU. And they can barely beat teams like Louisiana-Lafayette and Missouri at the Swamp. Missouri, Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky are awful. Vanderbilt, Miss. St. and Ole Miss are only marginally better. Alabama has been overrated all year. LSU is not the LSU of past years. Texas A&M is probably the best team in the league right now but they were a mid level Big 12 team just a year ago.
At the end of the day, the SEC is still better than the ACC but not by wide margin that most people seem to think. We better beat Clemson because I think FSU is going to roll Florida. And if Georgia can't outscore Georgia Tech, which I'm not sure they can, the SEC could really have egg on its face if we can't close the deal at Clemson.
But Alabama-Texas A&M didn't screw us. We screwed ourselves by losing to an LSU team that's not up to their normal standard and a Florida that had no business beating us. We handed that game to Florida in the first half then quit in the second half, that's what screwed us.
