Hey guys...take it easy on us next weekend.

Im pretty much fearing for tyler wilson's life against your DL...he's taken some bad shots this year. One of our better LBs was arrested for DWI yesterday and that is after we were already starting 2 true freshmen at LB, although they've played well. RB Dennis Johnson, TE Chris Gragg (if he comes back from injury) and WR Cobi Hamilton are our only weapons on offense. Our run defense is decent but our pass defense is the worst in the SEC. Most of us are looking forward to basketball season and getting a new HC. Also my thoughts go out to Lattimore...hope he can recover and play again.

Good luck the rest of the season...i will keep the faith in our slim bowl hopes disbelief

Re: Hey guys...take it easy on us next weekend.

I have this game as a slight edge for us only because its a home game. Our defense has not played well the last two outings and giving up a ton of points. Marcus has gone down and I dont see any RB taking up his slack. I think we win by about 3 because you guys always play us tough. You seem to save your best for us. I am very nervous about this game.

Thanks for everything you've accomplished here Marcus....Good luck in the NFL!!

They have beaten us 3 straight.   No way this team lets it become 4 in a row especially with a bye week.  We've been banged up but should be healed except for Latti.  Not a blowout for us, but a comfortable win.  Smith vs. Spurrier...

Arkansas seems to always play hard against us, and I see us having to play a great game to win this one. We don't need to take it easy on you, but rather play our best game because yall come to play. I am glad we are at home, and am nervous. Let's just hope for an injury free game.

everyone knows that the most dangerous animal out there is a wounded hog...

they just beat a Tulsa team that is very good, and despite the outcome of the season to date, Arky is a very talented team.

There is zero doubt that they could win..and win big..against us..

especially if we are still out of it mentally like we were against UF and UT (and LSU)

Tyler Wilson took some shots in the Tulsa game that I could see a lot of quarterbacks not getting up from.   He's one tough dude.

That was something John L Smith mentioned in his PC today. He said they've go to protect Wilson. Remember, Tulsa is a top 5 team in the country in sacks this season.

It also appears that the TE will be listed as doubtful for this weekend's game. Knile Davis is also 50/50 on whether he'll play or not.

They could be missing a few weapons but Wilson will certainly be able to make it for it for sure. He's a good QB and South Carolina has to bring the pressure and force him into uncomfortable situations.

I'm just hoping that both teams get through the game without any major injuries.

Looking for a good game and of course a Hog win.

Best of luck the rest of the year!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of getting smacked around, I remember in I think Lou's 3rd or 4th year, I saw the hardest hitting slobber-knocker of my life when Arkansas came to town after getting beat in Arky the year before, and some harsh words were said out there about the Gamecocks. Before it was over we knocked out their 1st and 2nd team QB's, and it seemed one or two Arkansas players were hobbling off the field every series. We won pretty handily as I recall--one of the few times we have won against them Hawgs. I'd like to see us play with the same intensity this year. What was that score?

That was in 2000 2nd year under Lou and it was 27-7.

Had more than enough injuries to go around for both teams this year!!!

Shaw's injured foot could give ark a big advantage.

Didn't know Shaw is injured, what is wrong with the foot?

I will never forget when those two Ark backs ran for about 600 yards against us.

Re: Hey guys...take it easy on us next weekend.

I didn't realize that Shaw's foot was hurt either.

We should be able to comfortably win this game over the Hogs and they owe us a few!  I expect Mike Davis and Miles to pick up the slack and play well.  Hopefully Shaw can have a good day.

We need to win this one and continue by winning out over the following 2 games.  We still have the chance to finish with a very good record.

Also Bad news about Matulis:

Highlights of Spurrier’s press conference: Lattimore to be honored, Shaw gimpy, Matulis done for year Posted on November 6, 2012 by Darryl Slater Coming out of an off week in which South Carolina lost its shot at the Southeastern Conference’s Eastern Division championship, because Florida beat Missouri, the Gamecocks begin the four-game stretch run of their season Saturday afternoon at home against Arkansas. The Razorbacks’ passing offense will test the Gamecocks’ secondary, which needs more help from its defensive front than it got in the most recent game, a win over Tennessee, which has one of the nation’s best offensive lines. So with three regular season games (Arkansas, Wofford, Clemson) and a bowl game to go, here now, are some highlights of USC coach Steve Spurrier’s Tuesday press conference … ** Tailback Marcus Lattimore had surgery last Friday on his right knee, which sustained multiple ligament tears against Tennessee. Spurrier was asked whether doctors have determined if Lattimore will need more than one surgery. People who tear multiple ligaments sometimes do. “The doctors will have to address that question,” Spurrier said. USC’s team doctor, Jeffrey Guy, has not returned a message seeking further comment on Lattimore’s status. “From what they all said, the surgery was successful,” Spurrier said. “Now it’s rehab and rest and so forth. And however long it takes, I think they wait and see. But he’s doing well and he’s back in Columbia and I think he’ll be at the game Saturday. So we’re looking forward to that.” Spurrier also announced that USC will honor Lattimore on Saturday – either before the game or after the first quarter – by unveiling his name on the stadium’s interior façade, as part of the Gamecocks’ school-record holders list. Lattimore has the records for total career touchdowns and career rushing touchdowns. “So I think our fans need to know that Marcus will be here and I’m sure he’ll get an ovation maybe like there’s never been one at Williams-Brice,” Spurrier said. Kenny Miles and Mike Davis are now USC’s top two tailbacks. USC wanted to redshirt Brandon Wilds, who played as a true freshman last year after Lattimore hurt his other knee, but the Gamecocks might need Wilds, who is a more bruising runner than Miles and Davis, to play. ** The off week came at a good time for the Gamecocks, who needed to heal and rest. Quarterback Connor Shaw sprained his foot at the end of the Tennessee game. Defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles missed his second straight game with a shoulder sprain. And right tackle Brandon Shell sprained his ankle and left the Tennessee game. Quarles and Shell should be good to go for Arkansas and have returned to practice, Spurrier said. As for Shaw, Spurrier said, “He was gimping around (Monday) night in practice. He stood in the pocket and caught it and threw a few, but he couldn’t run last night. Hopefully, by the middle of this week, he’ll be full go. But we’ll just have to wait and see. Dylan Thompson is ready. Dylan had a good practice. His injured triceps is I think 100 percent well now. But Connor, he’s got a little rehabbing to do before he’s full go for this Saturday. I doubt if he could have played if we’d have had a game last week, with the way he was gimping around last night.” Spurrier did say that Mike Matulis, who has played both offensive tackle spots since the beginning of last season, is out for the year with another shoulder injury. So he will have another surgery, this one on the opposite shoulder that caused him to miss spring practices. “He did the same thing to his other shoulder that he did last year,” Spurrier said. “I told him the other day, ‘You’ve got to start learning to block him like an offensive lineman instead of a wrestler.’ He has a little tendency to try to grab at them or something and gets his shoulder knocked back out of whack. Hopefully he can have successful surgery and start blocking with those hands a little bit more inside. That would help him.” ** Lest we forget, USC’s best remaining healthy player, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, continues to nurse what has been described as a deep bruise in his right foot. He was limited during the off week, because he needed to rest, and wore a boot on the foot. Defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward had said that Clowney’s injury is different from the stress fracture that free safety D.J. Swearinger played through last season – an injury that required offseason surgery. And while Clowney is going to keep playing through this foot injury, Spurrier said his foot injury is similar to Swearinger’s. Either way, Clowney’s foot is injured. “He’s actually got something like D.J. Swearinger had at the end of last year,” Spurrier said. “I think when the season’s over there’s a type of surgery they can do that fixes it. It’s not painful right now, but he doesn’t practice all that much. He practices Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. He goes about half the time, but he’s OK on Saturday’s. He’s fine. He’s ready to go.” Defensive line coach Brad Lawing said during the off week that there was a possibility Clowney would require surgery on the foot after the season. ** Finally, Spurrier was asked how he handles Election Day, in terms of giving his players and assistant coaches time to vote. (USC did not hold classes Tuesday, so that certainly gave players time. Spur outside linebacker DeVonte Holloman said he waited two hours in line to vote.) Spurrier’s response to this question: “Our guys that are 21 and so forth? A bunch of them had already made their arrangements, those that want to. Us as coaches, we make our own arrangements during the day. We’re practicing a little earlier today so we can get to the polls before 7 and so forth. So that’s the schedule I’m on right there.” USC will practice at 3:15 Tuesday, an hour earlier than normal. And yes, Spurrier obviously misspoke there. The voting age is 18, so every single player on his team is eligible to vote.
