Agreed...it's not like he said CU is in Colorado, and the Tigers are in Baton Rouge(or Auburn, or Missouri, Memphis, Towson or Wittenburg). But it seems many Clemson fans take every opportunity available to get their panties in a wad. Could he have worded it better? Sure. Could he have not said it at all...yeah. Did he tell Swinney to F himself? He didn't...so, whatever...

Talk show hosts on the clempson radio station should thank SOS because now they don't have to spend all week trying to make Duke sound like a dangerous team, like they did VaTech and Weak Forest. Most Clemson fans have been classy and expressed heartfelt sorrow about the injury. However some of them talk about being classy and then start a thread like the following one on a clempson board:

I think clempson needs to start wondering how they get so much out of state talent ($$$$$$$) and still never seem to be able to win anything. I LOVE SOS...and I am sure he knows how dirty their program is. I reallymiss him sometimes!

Sorry to interrupt your delusion but it was pretty classless and didnt make USC look good. He could have said thanks for the well wishes from other schools, he could have said thanks for the well wishes from our in state rival or many other things but he chose to specifically target and bash Clemson. He comes off as a bitter old man.

 Loved his comments. Perfect for a GAMECOCK birthday CELEBRATION for one of the best GAMECOCK's ever! I think my favorite part of this whole story is that yesterday Dumbo had no comment and didn't want to say anymore about it. Today he has comments. I guess he has to wait 24 hours to come up with a quick wit response.....  and his writer's to get it correct for him. |

Spurrier was giving Dabo a compliment for saying something truthful and correct. It was just in Steve speak. The press drives this. Maybe the coaches should keep it up. We never get mentioned as a great rivalry game. It is time someone outside of our state recognizes it. Keep flaming, guys!
By the way, Marcus loved it. It is lighthearted. Those bothered need to chill.

Second basically what your saying is since dabo in the past has took shots at USC then it's ok for spurrier to do it. So it really means USC is the same as Clemson. If USC were better. They wouldn't have stayed in the gutter with Clemson

he COMPLIMENTED dabo on the fact that for the first time ever...he said something GOOD about USC...
and used that to show how Lattimore has that ability to make even a clemson coach known for bad mouthing us stop his normal diatribes and say something good..
period.

This was posted by someone else on another board, but I thought it expressed the thougtht very well.
What better way to honor Marcus during HIS birthday celebration than to say that Marcus is such a special athlete and person that even Dabo,who takes every chance he gets to bash our program and talk crap about us AND is still pissed because we have beat the crap out of them for three years in a row, paid Marcus a compliment. He just said it in a way only Spurrier can.
