They seem to be obsessed with Carolina especially after coach's comments tonight. They believe they are going to destroy us this year. Tennessee supposedly shredded our defense and stuff like this. They absolutely think we are going to bend over for them. How do you guys see their team and their chances of beating us? I believe we will whip them for the fourth year in a row.

If Taj Boyd hangs the ball up like he did against Wake he'll get picked. Besides...he is not going to get that much time back there to throw...even sports host said great stats, but it was against Wake Forest and everyone has had great stats against Wake Forest.
Anyone else see Watkins and Hopkins on the sideline together and think...Milli Vanilli?

They are too stupid if they don't realize HBC made those comments to keep things positive and lively after such a horrific event. Stay classy, Pickens County.

Abo better worry about his defense. BTW, did anyone else notice how little respect the BCS gave Moo U's cupcake schedule?

Kornblut and GayMac were very critical of Spurrier last night. They are a couple of fruitcakes obsessed with the HBC. I used to like Kornblut but the last few years I can't stand the guy.
Thanks for everything you've accomplished here Marcus....Good luck in the NFL!!

Re: Cu taters (1 vote)
I think their players and coaches are going to be shocked when they play our D. Heck, Clowney was not even a starter last season and now hd is the best pass rusher in America. I expect them to put up a little more of a fight, though.
As for Datboy, I am sure SOS was embarrassed for him last year as well.

Re: Cu taters (2 votes)
dabo..korncat and the rest of those upstate clowns need to be embarrassed and focused on the tater fans who have been tweeting terrible things about Marcus instead of obsessing over throwaway lines used by Spurrier..
funny how for 30 years we were supposed to "turn the other cheek" to all the comments and terribly innapropriate statements made by clemson coaches...but now that they are the losers they whine and cry about every little thing..
all i can say to them is "Man up"...if you cant take the heat..then join the Southern Conference..
oh..and get rid of those fans or at least publicly chastise who are applauding Lattimores injury

"those upstate clowns need to be embarrassed and focused on the tater fans who have been tweeting terrible things about Marcus".... maybe, but i have heard not 1 bad things said about ML by anyone. period.
"funny how for 30 years we were supposed to "turn the other cheek" to all the comments and terribly innapropriate statements made by clemson coaches".... what????... what coaches said what??? i know TB said "i love that song (2001)... everytime i hear it, i win"... i'll concede to that one, but sos has thrown out more jabs to clemson than in his short stay than all jabs combined.... ever. and, dabo only jabbed back at sos... sos always starts this crap.
who the heck is applauding his injury... i've heard nothing of the sort.
all dabo did was show class and concern for a fine young man... and, sos starts crap again... very immature.
i hope we beat the snot out of y'all.

Re: Cu taters (2 votes)
I just read coaches comments and I have to say that it is refreshing to finally have a coach here who dislikes taters, beats taters and rubs it in their faces. I hope this mentality sticks with our players and comes with any future coach we may hire.

i hope we beat the snot out of y'all. If you really want to go there...It is not as immature as a 4-5 minute rant like Dabo spewed, trashing USC. "Real Carolina in Chapel Hill...real USC in California"...jab would have been fine and kinda funny, but to go on a rant with his verbal diarrhea was what one would expect from a childish, trash talking rival fan...Not a friggin' head coach! He was ridiculed all week on most of the sports shows...some joking that it sounded rehearsed, insinuating that Spurrier is in that clowns head. So defend that piece of crap you refer to as a coach, but don't make him out to be a class act when we know he and most coaches can be anything but!...And don't worry, Carolina nation will always remember his little tantrum and make him feel real welcome the next time he's in Williams Brice...but for now, we'll just have to settle for going into Dead Valley and whipping that ass in front of the tater faithful...

RE: Cu taters
Back to the original question: Clempsun has an explosive offense that can put a lot of points quickly. Their oline is the weak spot, and our defense relies on pressuring the qb. For some reason we don't get pressure, they will win -our dbs are going to be great, but are still very young.
I don't know much about their defense, but am assuming since I haven't heard much that it is ok, not bad not good. Our offense will need to be clicking & put up a lot of points, but am concerned what our oline does.
Bottom line in my opinion: if we are healthy & attack their oline, we will win (see ga game). If we are banged up & can't get pressure on D, they will.

i will say one thing... like it or not, the verbal jabs have amped this game up more than usual. and, two teams that may be in the top 10 wont hurt, either. and, just as y'all use to say so often... don't think the past will automatically determine the future.

Re: Cu taters (2 votes)
My personal odds on our winning........................................... .....about 25-75 against.
I'm hearing that our defense has improved..............but to me, it seems to be relative to whom we're playing. So, I don't know. Perhaps they've gotten a little better. Hard to say.
At this time, I do not see us being able to run the ball against you guys. I also see us having to get the ball on the edge quickly to negate the pass rush.
If you single cover Watkins and Hopkins, they're going to make some plays. Period.
As for some fans believing in the "destroy" mentality, well, there's always that.................is there not?
As for the coaches blabbering about.....................I don't really pay much attention. Seems like entertainment for the ants at the picnic.

Man, if you are in the top 10 with the schedule you have played, I will be amazed. Have you all beaten anyone with a winning record? You got beat by the only decent team you have played. Keep drinking that Dabo kool aid.

Re: Cu taters (1 vote)
Steve was playing to his audience. He was firing up the troops. I heard it and it is being blown up by the media. All Spurrier was saying was that even Dabo respects Latti. It was an indirect compliment. Sometimes Dabo talks trash, like his rant last season. This time Dabo was generous. Steve was thanking Dabo for transending football and speaking the truth this time.People in the media are hyping this because it is their job to make news. It is all about media money. Frankly, I am fed up with the media and the upset fans.

RE: Cu taters
with the exception of the comments directed toward Lattimore..please show me a single example of dabo swinney saying anything that was not negative and a diatribe against USC?
Thats all spurrier was commenting on..that swinney to date had NEVER had a single thing positive to say about USC...until his positive comments directed at Lattimore..
while Spurrier has made positive comments about clemson.

RE: Cu taters
anything that dabo has said negative about carolina has been a retort to a negative comment made by sos, or at least he thought it was your coach (todd ellis)... anything dabo has said has only been to defend his team... spurrier's comment have always been on the attack mode... classless.

RE: Cu taters
Head over to tigernet then, over half of those posters had some pretty negative things to say about latt. I'll give Dabo credit, he was very classy in his regards to lattimore, but don't think for a minute that erases the insults he threw at our players, coaches, university, and fans during last years rant. I for one hope WE beat the snot out of y'all.

playing to his audience or not... it wasn't the time or the place... what happened to ML is a serious thing that should be taken out of the light of football and rivalry... and put in humanity.. that's what dabo did... and, sos put it right back in... so you tell me... who was showing class and who was just being a... well, you know.
