It was very classy. Coach Spurrier and all the players that were asked about it said they had never seen anything like that. Very classy. Also heard that the Tennessee fan section was where the Lattimore chants began. Shows what kind of respect people have for Lattimore, not just as a player, but as a person.

I never cared for UT until Dooley got there. I think he is a class act. Today I have a tremendous respect for the team also. It brought tears to my eyes to see the Carolina and the UT teams surround Marcus. I have never seen such respect shown. Thank you UT.

Great move by UT. This is one reson that they need to keep Dooley. Could you see Lane Kiffen doing this in any way?

Re: Tennessee = Class

A UT player by the name of Eric Gordon was bragging about injuring Lattimore and laughing about him knocking Lattimore outta the game on his twitter feed.

He has since, made his twitter page private, but it's now out in the open.

If Dooley had any class whatsoever, he would suspend Gordon for his comments.

RE: Tennessee = Class

Unfortunately, Lane Kiffen did Tennessee wrong and left that program and Dooley in a no win situation.  That said, yesterday's actions by the team and their fans were an incredible gesture and one that I will not forget for some time.  I have never been for or against Tennessee in the past, but I suddenly feel I could pull for them in the future when they don't play us.
So much accomplished, so much farther to go!!!

I really find that hard to believe, but, if true, I'm sure it will definitely be dealt with. Trust me when I say that no one in the city of Knoxville that I have spoken with have stated anything but sorrow and prayers for the young man. Again, I don't know how much truth there is to it and hope no one would believe it until proven true. After the class I saw yesterday from both teams, I would hate for that to be tarnished in any way. Prayers sent...

                                                                                    Dude...

It's common knowledge. Most of us have seen it. Trust me. It happened.

If it is true, then accept my apologies from all of Tennessee. It was a classless thing to do. Rivalry on the field and between fans is one thing. That goes above and beyond and is in no shape or form the thought process of most fans or players. Every team has it's idiots, it's just during these times when the light shines brightest on them. And the true Tennessee fanbase would never condone such behavior.

I do not think it is true. He was in the circle of guy surrounding Latti. I am sure angry people blew up his twitter. The team has class.

I agree Dude. Nothing personal and I don't feel as though that's the mentality of UT football or it's fans.

My wife and I were talking about it when we saw it. The fact is, this (Eric Gordon) is a classless little $%# and like I said, while Dooley hasn't been all that successful on the field, he has run a clean program for the most part and I applaud him for that.

The question is, what does Dooley intend to do about this. That's the real question. I know his job is in jeopardy, but does he sacrifice his ethics for possible wins?

Only time will tell.

If he did that then believe me Da'Rick Rodgers would still be here. Again, I never saw the twitter and can't say as to whether it happened or not or if it had been posted by someone else on his twitter page. But if it did indeed happen, it will be dealt with i have no doubt... But I can't rush to judgement on the young man until all comes out. I can only pray that it is found to be false...

Agreed.

It was up for an hour or so on his twitter feed before he made it private. It will come out in due time.

I just wish I would have thought to have gotten a screenshot. I was so in shock, the thought never crossed my mind.

Bragging about injuring another player? If what you say is true that Gordon guy should be banned for the remainder of the year at a minimum...ohlord

Well, I prefer to focus on the class shown by the UT team and fans towards Marcus. That was moving, along with the fans cheering the gesture.

No. And while it looks like Dooley is probably on his way out, Volunteer Nation should at least applaud they way he has cleaned up that program off the field.

RE: Tennessee = Class

lets choose to focus on lattirmore..and not on other diversionary issues. The acts taken by the coach and entire of UT speak far greater than the *possible* actions of a single player.

Nowadays it is quite common for twitter feed to be hacked by rival fans. We dont know any who would do that, now do we?

I never thought id see the day when i had good things to say about the character of Tennessee football...but that day has arrived.

Thanks Vol Nation for the sportsmanship and class shown

Thanks to all of Vol nation for showing such great character. I wish yoh could find a way to keep Dooley.  IMO, he is the classiest coach you all have had in a long time.  I do understand the "win" thing, though.

I was unable to watch your game yesterday, but I have seen the replay of ML's gruesome injury. I was just wondering though, what did Tenn fans and players do that was so classy? Anyone have a video of it?
