If You Could Live Anywhere on Earth Where Would It Be?

If you could live anywhere on earth, financially free, where would it be?

If you were alone and had no family ties at all, where would you want to live?

Exactly where I'm at, for now.

When I retire, we'll see.

Well, right now, I'm working on it being Lake Texoma.  However, that is considering what I can afford, or what I think I can afford in the future.  Great question if money was no object, I don't think I could answer that unless I had all that money and a couple years to travel around and see more places.  I have seen so little of the US, let alone other countries.

I have never been to the Florida Keys.  I seem to think that is where I would like to live in the winter (Dec. thru March) and somewhere in the mountains in the summer.  The mountain living would have to be by a body of water that was not too cold to swim in. I lived on the south shore of Lake Tahoe for a short period of time in July and August.  That body of water  is too cold to swim in.

Yup, but damn nice to look at.  Most beautiful place I've ever seen to date, Tahoe that is.

Actually that's probably what we'll do, when my wife and I retire.   Travel a bit, then decide if and where to move.

We almost moved to Bend OR several years back but we couldn't come to an agreement on a salary that would make it work. However it is one of my favorite places that I have visited.

Hawaii. Have been lucky to travel a lot in my life and it is my favorite place on earth.

Wife and I are on year 5 of a 15 year plan. Goal to move to Hawaii in 10 years.

I'm assuming financially-free means tax-free

San Diego or San Francisco if it's tax-free
Key West if it isn't (because Florida does not have a state income tax)

I want to live in Gumby's house in Colorado. Can I kick him out, if he irritates me?

Heck, I haven't stayed in it yet. Just completed late last month. Will spend first night next Wed. As for you staying there, that's between you and Ms Gumby.

Even if you get an invite Brian, it will preclude any recreational marijuana, I'm guessing.   pirate
